Biography:
Chasity was conceived in love and hope for a future Atherton generation, though her parent's dreams were put on hold when she turned out to be a girl. At first, it wasn't that big of a deal for they could always try again for the male heir that would carry on the family name, but to no avail. For some reason, Amee was no longer able to conceive a child. Once this was realized, the toddler became despised by her parents. In their eyes, she was the child that should have been a boy, and she was the reason that they couldn't have any more children. This grew into a bleak childhood for Chasity. Though there was the family money and she could have anything she asked for, they refused her the only thing she really wanted: their love.
At the age of five, her magical abilities were discovered. It happened while outside swinging. She called for her mother to watch her, over and over, ignored every time with a flick of Amee's hand. She called louder, swinging higher with every "Look, mommy, look! Look!" Suddenly an overpowering silence filled the air, like a blanket covering everything, muting it. The only sound that could be heard, and could not be ignored, was the young girl's voice, begging her mother to watch her leap from the swing.
When she was accepted into Hogwarts, as it was assumed she would be due to her heritage, the only thing her father said to her was, "Well, it better be Slytherin. And we won't tolerate any Hufflepuff nonsense, either, so you just tell that old hat to put you where you belong." Chasity nodded mutely, still clutching her letter with an ecstatic expression frozen on her face. Not a single "Congratulations", or "We're so proud of you", or anything similar. Just an admonishment to belong to the correct house.

It was just after the end of term and Chasity had just arrived home, if you could call it a home. Her mother was humming quietly in the kitchen, carefully flicking her wand this way and that, putting together dinner and tidying all at the same time. In the study, her father was looking over some papers, as usual. And, as usual, they had forgotten that she was coming home that day. She exhaled sharply in disgust and slammed the door. "I'm home!" she yelled, louder than necessary, then added under her breath, "If you care..."
Royce glanced up and frowned, then returned to his business. A brief pause in the humming was Amee's acknowledgment of her daughter's presence. And again, nothing has changed here, she thought unhappily as she ascended the stairs.
She opened her bedroom door and flicked the light on before tumbling onto her bed. "I'll be sixteen soon," she mused aloud, "and I wonder if they'll remember my birthday this year." Chasity sighed dramatically and grabbed her list of school supplies. She had several friends in the same year, perhaps she could get one them to invite her along to Diagon Alley when they went. She looked up at the door, hearing the vague sounds of her mother humming downstairs. She would have to, they wouldn't take her. If only she had been born a boy, then she would have been loved.

((OOC: Stole the name from one of my own characters on Hogwarts Magic, but the character herself is different. I hope it isn't a problem. I don't mind changing her name if needed, but I really like it.))
