Penelope Jane Matthews was born to two loving and magical parents, Tommy her father and Olivia her mother. Pennys parents tried to force their 'pureblood' values and 'striving to be the best' attitudes on her from the start. Something that was not uncommon for pureblood families.. However, Penny rejected all attempts to control her behaviour and personal values from the get go, and subsequently gained a better level of respect from her parents than shewould have done if she had indeed become their previously envisioned child..
Penny received her invite to attend Hogwarts and suddenly found she was quite a popular student, her charm and blood status both serving her well, however it also brought her some enemies, mainly girls.. but she didnt care, as long as they didnt find out her secret fears, they couldnt touch her...
Now Penny Mathews is someone that most people cant help but like or admire. She has a carefree attitude that rivals school dropouts, a witty and flirty sense of humour, yet she is hurgely talented magically and highly knowledgable to boot. Seems too good to be true? Well, yes, actually, because Penny has a problem. She is massively claustrophobic.. Put Penny anywhere near an enclosed space and she will freak out beyond belief.. and when she freaks out, she can perform wandless magic, though is it wreckless and totally uncontrolled.. Penny Matthews was walking through the blustering snow storm on her way to Hogsmeade. Her coat was buttoned up to the very top and her blue scarf was wrapped around her neck and pulled up over her mouth as she battled her way through the snow and into the heavenly warmth of the three broomsticks..
Upon stepping inside, the snow which had only moments previously been caked in her hair had suddenly vanished, and Penny was overcome with a delightly warmth as she realised that her clothes and hair were bone dry.. Must have been a drying charm placed on the doorway, Penny mused as she walked further inside and unbuttoned her jacket as she did so..
Stepping up the bar, she ordered a butterbeer and removed her scarf, folding it and carefully placing it into her bag, before collecting her purchase and making her way over to the window seats, were she set down her things and pulled out her potions text book, and began to read...
