Lucy skipped through the halls happily. It was her free period and she had a book(and it was not a school book for once) she wanted to read, and the court yard seemed the perfect spot to do said reading in. She smiled happily and turned the corner. She headed down the flight of stairs and towards the entrance of the school. She was excited that she had all her school work done. This meant she could have some fun finally. She took her studies very seriously, and well, Lucy being Lucy, refused to do anything until her school work was done. Slacking off was not something that she did. She skipped towards the court yard and entered. She sigh happily and ran a hand through her long red hair. She walked around for a few minuets before finally finding the bench she liked best. She sat down and opened her book. It was one of her favorite Jane Austen books. The title of it was Emma, and the book looked like it had seen a lot of wear throughout the years. Lucy could not remember how many times she had actually read the book, but she loved it, and was always re-reading it. She smiled softly and opened it, and turned to the first chapter, and began reading.

It was Spencer's free period, which students usually took advantage of getting their homework done, or at least to study for the next test, but not him, though everyone sure knows that he should actually do that. Spencer is just about at the bottom of almost every class- especially potions. The only class that Spencer does good in is Muggle Studies, only because he is Muggle-born...and even then he still isn't getting close to top marks. It's a wonder how Spencer ends up passing his exams.
He was one of the last students to leave his class- mostly because the Professor was scolding on how he needed to try harder. Spence just shrugged it off as he left. In all his past years at Hogwarts he has been a slacker- so why actually try on his last year? It would hardly make any difference. He wasn't the best at magic anyway- or at least not brewing potions and using even simple charms. He most likely wouldn't be able to land a decent wizarding job with his grades anyway. He slid his hand through his hair as he saw that most students were already in deep conversation or heading to the library. Spence wasn't in his normal happy-go-lucky mood after thinking about where his future will take him, so he didn't feel like interrupting anyone, and he sure didn't want to go to the library. He considered going to the Slytherin common room but decided that it would be better if he just went outside instead- perhaps it would help clear his head. He hated feeling down.
He shoved his hands in his jacket pocket and walked out to the courtyard. He was surprised that hardly anyone was out there. Frowning slightly he kept walking. He had nothing to do and no one to talk too. Today wasn't one of his good days, that's for sure. Minutes later he noticed a girl sitting on a bench reading. He weighed his options for a few moments (something that he rarely ever did) and decided that he would bug her a bit- finally giving him something to do. As he walked toward her he figured that she was a Weasley- probably. He never really gave much effort in remembering people out of his house, so he didn't expect to be right.
He sat down on the bench next to her- not asking for permission first. Spencer wasn't all that good with manors. He looked at the title of the book that she was reading and figured that it was some boring, stupid, girly book. She liked to read for fun- how boring, in his opinion. "Hey, I'm Spencer Lewes." He waited for her to respond, wondering if she was the kind of person who hated to be bothered by random strangers.
word count; 540 notes; wow this is really horrible, i'm so sorry...i usually do much better it's just that i haven't been roleplaying for a while and i'm trying to get myself back into my usual muse and such.

Lucy smiled to herself. She was at one of her favorite parts in the first chapter. She felt someone sit down next to her, she looked up from the book and blinked. She had been expecting one of her cousins or sister to be the person sitting beside her, but instead she was quite surprised to see a boy who, judging by his robes, was from Slytherin. She smiled when he introduced himself."Hi, Im Lucy Weasley." she said. He seemed nice enough, Lucy decided. He was not hexing her or anything, well not yet anyway. She decided to strike up a conversation with him."So, is it your free period too?" she asked, giving him a small smile."I like to come out here and read or do my school work during my free periods. I want to enjoy whats left of the summer." she said leaning back on the bench and leting the warm rays hit her."Its nice, isnt it? I love summer." she said with a content sigh."So, tell me about yourself." she said with a giggle."Your obviously in Slytherin, and your name is Spencer." she said with another small laugh."But what do you like to do for fun?" she asked him giving him a bright smile.
