A small sigh escaped Harry as he made his way through the corridors. He was here on another routine checkup of the school. He figured he might as well do it because he’d already been in the area, what with the recent festival. Now that Harry thought about it, it ran rather smoothly, given what it could have turned into*. His thoughts wandered over everything that had happened. He had met James’ girlfriend for the first time. She was an extremely nice young lady. Harry could see why James liked her.
He had also seen his daughter with a boy Harry could only assume was her boyfriend. Tormund Wood. He knew Tormund vaguely outside of the school, still keeping in touch with Oliver. But… Harry couldn’t shake the thought from his head that something was wrong. He knew, even though he wasn’t supposed to, that Lily had a thing for the Malfoy boy.
So, if Lily had a thing for him, why was she dating Tormund? Harry hoped his daughter knew what she was getting herself into, and that she wasn’t playing with Tormund’s heart. Hell, Harry didn’t want her playing with either boy’s heart. Granted yes, he would have preferred Wood over Malfoy, but still. It didn’t matter what he wanted, only what his daughter wanted. He stopped walking, sitting down on a bench next to an open window as he massaged his head. Merlin… why was being a parent so difficult?

He might as well risk being slaughtered for what the head auror had seen at the festival than pay for it later when he went to apply for a job, that is if he wasn’t chosen by a professional Quidditch team like his father. He took in a large breath and released it through his mouth. “I know you’re probably angry at me for kissing Lily in front of you when you didn’t know we were going out.
