Lucy sighed. She was sitting out at the lake, her last class had ended and she went outside to enjoy the last bits of summer. She had stoppep by the Gryffindor girls dorms and had changed, and had her swimsuit underneath her skirt and blouse. It was a green bikini with polka dots, and she absolutley loved it.
So now here she was sitting under a tree, letting the sun warm her. She smiled and stood up and pulled her shirt off and then shimmied her skirt off. The water was just too inviting. She smiled as she walked towards a rock that hung over the lake. She took a running start and then dived into the water. She laughed as she came back up. "This feels nice." she said to herself with a content sigh. She turned over and floated on her back, her eyes closed as she just layed there floating. She would occasionally opened her eyes and did a few back strokes to keep her close to the shore of the lake.word count:200 tags:Frakie lyrics:none

For a day in September it was quite nice out. Frankie had all, well most, of his work done and deemed it was time for a break. He meandered his way down the busy corridors towards the courtyard. Kids were swarming everywhere, trying to take in the last rays of summer sun. It was hard to find a vacant spot in the courtyard, so he decided to continue on out to the grounds. Frankie waved to a couple passers-by, but didn't really feel a desire to stop and chat. Which was abnormal, because usually he was a bucket full of words.
Today he decided he needed some time to himself. He was assigned a deathly essay that he needed a break from. His brain felt like it was steaming and coming out his ears. The fresh air livened him up a bit, and the breeze got stronger as he drew closer to the black lake.
As he reached the shore of the lake he noticed a little red head bobbing up and down in the water. One of the Weasleys, no doubt. But which one? As the girl surfaced, he recognized her as Lucy. Frankie smiled. He always thought she was a nice gal.
There was a large rock at the edge of the lake that looked like a good spot for a seat. Frankie made his way over, sat down and watched the girl. "Hey there," he yelled trying to get her attention. "You've picked a nice day to swim. But isn't is a bit cold still?"

Lucy sighed happily as she continued to swim through the water. She dived down and then came back up by a rock. She wiped the water from her eyes and then saw Frankie sitting on the rock. She grinned brightly, she had always liked Frankie, he was a nice guy. She laughed at his comment about it being too cold to swim."Hi Frankie! Nah, its nice, but I am getting a bit chilly now that the wind has picked up some." she said and swam towards the shore where her clothes and wand were. She did a quick drying spell and slipped her skirt and blouse back on.
She walked over towards the rock, and then plopped down next to Frankie."So what brings you out here?" she asked giving him a smile. For some reason unbeknownst to her, she was just never shy around Frankie like she was other people."I was just trying to enjoy the last bits of summer. Fall is approaching pretty fast, and then before you know it it will be winter." she said with a sigh. She did love winter, but there was just something so carefree about summer. and Lucy liked to have her freedom. She hated feeling caged, that was why she came down to the lake so often, she needed fresh air."So how have you been? I havent seen you in a while." she said giving him a soft smile.

There was a soft chuckle from him as she replied, saying that the water was just fine. Sure, whatever she says, he thought facetiously. Frankie wasn't much of a swimmer himself. He hated being wet. It made him feel uncomfortable. Sure, he'll bathe, but lightning fast. He liked it best being warm and dry.
The pale figure hopped out of the water, did a drying spell , and slipped her clothes back on. It all seemed premeditated, like she had done this before. The smile remained on his face as she joined him on the rock.
"I was just taking a much needed break from my homework," Frankie shrugged easily, and listened to her continue. "Yeah, I'm going to miss the nice weather," he agreed. Since being warm was a top priority for him, obviously he hated the winter. He knew his permanent spot would be in front of the fireplace in the common room all season long. "I'm doing all right. Nothing too spectacular... trying to avoid my dad at all costs. Not that I hate him or anything!" Frankie chuckled an put his hands up in mock defense. "He always wants to talk about Herbology every time I see him. Normally I'm on my way to a meal too. And he likes it when I call him Professor," He laughed again at the pure ridiculousness of the situation... avoiding his own dad, the Herbology Professor. It was just a tad embarrassing.
"Anyway, how have you been Luce?" he asked, changing the subject.

She smiled at him when he mentioned that he was taking a brake from homework."If you ever need any help with homework, I would love to help!" she said happily. She was in a good mood today for some reason. She laughed when he mentioned his father."Well, Professor Longbottom, has always been very..." she searched for the word she wanted to use here"enthousiatic about herbology." she said with a small giggle.
"Wow, well I suppose he just really loves teaching, and thats why he wants you to call him professor." she said smiling reassuringly at Frankie." And I'm sure he would understand if you wanted to talk about something other than Herbology." she said patting the boys shoulder gently. She smiled when he asked how she had been, and she immediatly thought of Noah, and smiled brightly."Oh I've been good. Better than good actually. Everything just seems to be going great for me right now. I'm loving school, I've made a couple pf new friends, and well there's some other stuff too." She said still smiling happily.
"So what have you been up to? Besides school work. Which the teachers seem to be slaming us with this year. All I've heard about in my house this summer is "Lucy you have to et good test results!" and "Really sweetheart we know you make wonderful grades, we just want you to get good test results, so you can get a good job after you graduate." Ugh, parents sometimes. But I know they just want what's best for me." she said smiling softly.word count:i lost count accidently sorry xD tags: Frankie comments:

Frankie chuckled as he listened to Lucy talk. She was such like the rest of her family... bright, friendly, and talkative. He tried to hide his smirk, but the corners of his mouth betrayed him. But it was so hard not to as the red head rambled on. It was kind of a bummer that he didn't get to see her that often; he really enjoyed her company. If only he was a Gryffindor like his dad. Its not that he didn't want to be a Hufflepuff, his mum was one. Being in Gryffindor would have meant spending more time with one of his friends...
"Sounds like anyone's parents if you ask me," Frankie said with a laugh, "My dad and mum are always on my back to do well in school! What can I say, I try my best..."
His legs kicked against the rock and his hands patted on his thighs. He was always a fidgety bloke. It wasn't from nervousness or anything, he just couldn't keep still.
"So what's this other stuff you mentioned?" Frankie asked suggestively as he nudged her arm. One of his downfalls was gossiping. Well, he didn't gossip too much. Frankie enjoyed the listening end of it all. He knew everything about everyone... well almost. He had to dig for it first.
