- - - - - - - - - - A sigh was released from the metamorphagus werewolf crossbreed as he made his way down the busy streets of Diagon Alley. His hands were in his pocket, tensing and relaxing as he looked around the streets. He knew Victoire was working now, but he was still terrified he would get found out. Every blond he saw he would duck his head and check to see if it was his girlfriend. But of course, she was no where to be seen. Calm down Ted, this ain't a big deal. he told himself, but he knew better. Today, once he met up with Ginny, he would be searching for the perfect ring, the ring that would tell the world that Victoire Weasley would soon be Victoire Lupin. The two of them had told one another that there was no one out there for them besides each other, so they were aware that they would one day be joined in matrimony. They already discussed the little rugrats they would have running around, and how great life would become after the fact, but it still scared him. Not because he was afraid of commitment or her family, but there was still the chance she could say no, say she wasn't ready just yet.
What brought this on one may ask? Well the idea came from when he and Ron sat down at a Muggle television at work and watched some sort of sitcom. They were watching it because both of them were extremely bored and Ron was sick of listening to Harry blabber on about nothing. Anyways, in the show one of the couples had a winter wedding, the snow falling around them, it was magical even for Muggles. He could imagine himself in a thick black jacket watching Victoire walking down the isle, the idea of her mother royally pissed off at the two of them having a wedding in the middle of the winter. Victoire was not pleased with her mother arranging most of the wedding already since the two of them had only just gotten together. Apparently she already had the flower arrangement figured out, whatever that meant. When the show ended Ron asked when the two of them were finally 'sealing the deal' with the engagement ring. Surprisingly to both of them, Ted said soon. Of course he always said he would do it sooner then later, but the idea of actually getting down on one knee and saying the words that have been on the tip of his tongue since their reunion.
So this is why Theodore Lupin was on the streets of Diagon Alley. He was out searching for the perfect engagement ring for his beloved Victoire Weasley. He had owled Ginny this morning, because frankly, Ginny had been the closest thing to a mother for Ted since his mother passed. He couldn't call his Grandmother like a mother, she was old and treated him like her grandchild more the like her own son. For six years in fact, Ginny had treated Ted like her own son, even more so when James was born. She never wanted him to feel left out, and he loved her for that fact. Hence forth why he asked her here today, to help him pick out the ring. She didn't know that she was here for that reason, he was planning on tell her by bringing her to the store and letting her put the pieces together. She was always smart like that. He also had a few questions to ask her, and he was sure she would be able to help him in any way. He stood outside the Quidditch Supplies Store, examining the brooms in the store front while he waited for Ginny Potter to appear. Ginny had just finished cleaning the lunch dishes from when her husband had apparated home for lunch. Harry always spent his lunch brake with her, something she enjoyed. She glanced up at the clock and gasped."Bloody Hell! Teddy!" she shrieked. She had promised the boy, who she loved and had raised as her own son that she would meet him at the Quidditch store in Diagon Alley. She was not sure why he wanted to meet her, but her motherly instincts told her it was important, and she always did her best to help her children whenever they needed anything.
She grabbed a handful of floo powder and threw it into the fire place. She stepped in and called out clearly "Diagon Alley." She soon stepped out of the fireplace at the Leaky Cauldron, she was a bit sooty, but soon fixed that with a charm. She waved at the inn keeper and then started to walk to the store where she was meeting Ted.
"I wonder what's going on." she mumbled to herself. It was rather odd that he had asked her to meet him, and not Harry. Maybe it had something to do with Victoire. She was not sure, but whatever it was, she would help him the best she could. she finally made it to the store and saw Teddy. He seemed to be pacing nervously. She could not help the small giggle that came out. The boy seemed almost as nervous as Harry was when he had proposed to her. She smiled at the memory of her husband proposing. It had been rather funny, but very sweet. Thats when everything clicked. Was her little Teddy planning on proposing and that was what he had wanted to talk to her about? She smiled as she thought about Vic and him finally tying the knot.
she reached him and gave him a hug."Hello dear." she said smiling."How are you? Are you getting enough to eat? Your not being worked to hard are you? I'll be having a little chat with Harry if you are. " she said fussing over her adopted son."So what is it that you wanted to speak with me about?" she asked smiling, almost knowingly at the boy, well no Teddy was not a boy anymore, he was a young man now, a thought that made Ginny smile.

- - - - - - - - - - Ted had been indeed pacing the store front, frightened to death at what Ginny would do once she figured out. Would she be worried he was running into it too quickly? He gulped and only knew what was happening when he saw the red head women bounding towards him. He chuckled as she asked how he was, returning the hug. "Ginny, will you ever stop worrying about me? I mean, I'm twenty four now!" he chuckled wrapping an arm around his motherly figure as he led her down the streets of Diagon Alley. He was having a hard time keeping down his excitement and fear all at the same time, but he looked towards the corner shop that crafted engagement and marriage rings and took a deep breathe. If he couldn't do this with Ginny, how as he suppose to ask Vic?
"Oh, just need help with a gift is all." he said, trying to hide his reasoning. She didn't need to know just yet. "So how are James and Lily and Albus? I haven't heard from them in awhile." he said, trying to get them off topic, but there was truly no point, they were nearly at the store. He imagined different scenarios in his head, only one of them being good. The rest ended him in pain or heartbroken. He bit his lip, looking around, making sure one last time that Vic wasn't in the vicinity, or her Mum, before stopping in front of the shop. He looked at Ginny, who only just stop walking a foot head of him and placed a hand on the back of his neck, giving her a half smirk half grimace as he let her put the pieces together for herself. She smiled at Ted."Never! You'll always be my little boy." she said smiling at Teddy. She smiled when he said he was looking for a gift, and then followed him to the shop. Her suspicions were confirmed however when she saw just what shop it was. She squealed and pulled Teddy into a hug."Dont you dare change the subject Theodore Remus Lupin! You need me to help you find a ring for Victoire! I knew it! I knew it!" she said triumphantly."Come on we need to get you the perfect ring for her!" she said grabbing her son's hand and dragging him into the shop.
She smiled at the shop keeper and then looked at Ted."Well Tell the man what your looking for Theodore." she said smiling knowingly at him." Now dont dawdle Teddy." she said pushing her son forward. She smiled as she thought about Ted getting married. It brought a smile to her face, and she could not stop the small tear that threatened to leak out of her eye. Her little Teddy was getting married, and then he would be having little ones of his own. It was wonderful, and a little scary, but Ginny could not be happier for Ted. She wondered when he would ask Vic, she hoped soon, and he had to do it right, she would impress the imprtance of that on him later. Right now, a certain young man needed to fin the perfect ring for a certain young lady.

- - - - - - - - - - Ted chuckles as Ginny pulled him into yet another hug. "Oh Ginny, thank god. I was hoping for this reaction. Not a slap to the face or saying I was too young or crying on me... well I know you want to cry but thanks for not crying." he chuckled but soon found that he was being dragged into the store. He looked flusterly at the store keeper who looked down at his ripped jeans, probably dusgusted with the fact he would wear something like that to a store such as this. He also probably didn't think he had enough money for any of his rings. Thank god for his salary. Especially all that work away, he got a fair amount for traveling all over Europe putting baddies in their place.
"I'm looking for an engagement ring sir." Ted spoke clear, looking back at Ginny for reassurance then back to the store keeper. He ushered the two of them over to a case filled with them. He examined each, trying to figure out which one would be perfect for her. He would go to point at one but could see the look of disgust on Ginny face and immeditly put his hand down. After about a half hour they had narrowed it down to three rings. The Declaration, which was the exact meaning of proposal. Thing band, simple diamond. Then there was the Ballerina ring which was meant for dancers, but it had is elegance and beauty in the sqaure cut diamond. Finally, there was the You're mine ring, Ted's favorite. It's diamond was a heart cut ring, diamonds encasing the surrounding band. The only thing was, it was quite expensive. He wasn't sure, he wanted Victoire to love his ring, and he wasn'tsure if she would like the simplier band over the more flashier one. He turned to Ginny, expression his distress. "What do you think Ginny?" he asked. - - - - - - - - - -

She laughed at Ted's comment "Of course I'm going to cry at some point today! Im so happy for you Teddy. You'r getting married and soon you'll be having little ones of your own." she said smiling at Ted.Then playfully smacked his arm"Then you'll understand what it's like to be a parent." she said laughing, imagining the hell that his future children were going to submit him to.
She gave the clerk a small glare when she saw the nasty look he gave her son. But smiled as she watched the young man before her look through the rings. She walked over to him when he called her for help. She could tell he was getting flustered and placed a hand on his shoulder."Calm down dear." she said smiling at him. She looked at the rings he had picked out and instantly disapproved of the Your Mine ring."Deffinetly not that one Teddy." she said pointing to it."Its too busy, Vic likes simple, classic. And that one is much much too busy." she said looking at the ring in distaste. She looked at the other two rings."I think she would like the Ballerina Ring. It has a classic cut, and its band is perfect." she said. She knew her niece well, and knew that she would deffinetly like the Ballerina ring the best."I think that's the one Teddy." she said smiling at her son.

- - - - - - - - - - Teddy listened carefully as Ginny gave him advice. As much as he hated to big flashing ring to go, he knew that the Ballerina one was the one for her. He sighed gently and nodded to the storeman. He quickly returned the rings and asked him for her size. "Oh right here." he said, producing one of Vic's rings. He had stolen it the other night so he could get the proper size without being suspcious. The clerk nodded and headed to the back of the store to get him his ring. He looked at Ginny and sighed gently. "Thank you so much Ginny." he smiled, pulling her into a hug. "You'll be a wonderful Grandmum." he chuckled, knowing he'd get a smack for that comment. As the clerk returned with the ring in the small velvet black box he pulled out the bag of galleons and paid his handsomely for the ring. The clerk handed him the small white bag and he took Ginny's arm and headed out the door.
He was well aware that she was dying to ask him a million and two questions about all of this so he led her towards the Leaky Cauldron, planning on getting celebratory Butterbeers while they chatted and discussed. He wanted to know how Harry proposed and what she thought of all of this and he's idea of how he was going to propose. He had thought of it awhile back, and he wanted to get some input on his idea. He pulled Ginny into the bar and the two of them headed towards the back of the bar. ted was aware Victoire liked to take her breaks here, so he didn't want to risk it. After they order a round of Butterbeer's, Ted balled his fists together, elbows on the table and rested his head on his fists. "So. What do you want to know?" Ginny watched as he produced on of her niece's rings and laughed a little."Well, at least you'r getting the right size." she said grinning at her son.She smiled as he pulled her into a hug and then thanked her and told her she would be a wonderful grandmum. That was it she couldnt help some of the tears that fell. She smiled watery smile at Teddy and pulled him into a tight hug."I- oh thank you Teddy." she said and then dried up her tears."I would be honored to be a grandmother to your future children." she said smiling happily. She was not sure if Teddy was going to want his future children to call her grnadmum or not. Of course she had raised him and thought of him as a son, but she had just not been certain. She felt silly now for doubting, but still she was very happy he had told her he wanted her to be a grandmother to his kids.
She smiled and followed her son to the small pub. She laughed when he asked her what she wanted to know."Well, first off, how do you plan on proposing?" she asked him. She wanted to know, and she wanted to make sure he did it right.

- - - - - - - - - - Ted was surprised he didn't receive a smack, instead a hug and a few tears. "Ginny, you and Harry have been like real parents to me my entire life. How can I not say that you'll be my kids grandparents?" he chuckled, squeezing her close before retrieving the ring and heading out the door with Ginny in tow. The thoughts of little children running around him and Vic made him smile. Would they metamorphagus's like himself? Or would the combined werewolf gene in both him and Vic cause their kid to transform at the full moon? Would their little girls have the veela charm their mother posed? It was quite a mystery. Ted wasn't quite sure what to expect really at the moment. All he knew is that it made him overjoyed to think about his own kids. He loved each of the Weasley and Potter children as his own little brothers and sisters. But some kids of his own just made him estactic.
Ted rolled his eyes at Lily's first questoin. "Of course that's the first thing you want to ask. Not when did you decide, when you going to do that, or any of that bull." Ted chuckled but sighed. "I've had a few ideas rolling around in my head. I want something to surprise her, not the stupid ring hiding in the cake deal or any of that, no it's gotta be special. First I thought of a scavenger hunt, going from family to family member with clues, but I think she'd get fed up with that after awhile and be kinda pissed with me. I thought of bringing her to beach at sunset but it's kinda chilly for that now and she'll suspect something is up, so I plan on [PMING THE REST CAUSE'S IT'S A SURPRISE Cx]." he said, going off into detail about where exactly he was going to do, when, and all that good stuff. "So do you think Ginny? Too much?" he asked tilting his head to the side. He wondered if Harry did it romantic or just popped the question.[/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - WORDS?: 364 TAGS?: Ginneh LYRICS?: --- OUTFIT? She smiled and hugged Teddy when he told her he thought of her as a real mother. "Teddy I could not love you any more than if I had actually gone through labor with you." she said giving him a soft motherly smile." Harry and I have always thought of you as one of our own, even if you aren't ours by blood." she said giving him another hug. It was true she loved him asif he was one of her own children, even if she had not given birth to him.
She laughed at his comment about her not asking what had brought on the proposal."Well you know me Teddy, I'm not a normal mother." she said with another laugh. She smiled as he went through different plans for proposing to her niece. Some she wrinkled her nose up at, but the last one, the last one was absolutly perfect, and she was sure that Victoire would love it."Alright, we have to make this perfect. You're going to propose like the last way you told me. I'l help you with everything, this does after all have to be perfect." she said smiling widely at her son."Now then, we need to start getting everything set. And for Gods sake Theodore no telling anyone! That includes Harry, and especially Fleur!" she said putting emphasis on Fleur's name.
She sighed happily as she thought of how Harry had proposed. The poor man had been so nervous, but the way he had proposed had been so sweet. She looked back up at Teddy and grinned."Have I ever told you about the night Harry proposed?" she asked and then laughed again."He was so nervous, but it was so adorable." she said smiling and thinking about the night her husband had proposed.

- - - - - - - - - - Ted laughed as she talked about him as he son, and smiled softly at her. "Aww Gin, you're going to make me cry!" he said, pretending to wipe away the fake tears before she wrapped her arms around him yet again. "Thanks though Ginny, it really means a lot to me." he said, which was the complete truth. Harry had too lost his parents when he was a baby, but from the stories he told Teddy he never got as much love as the young metamorphagus did. He truly did apperciate their efforts, and they wouldn't go unnoticed.
Ted laugehd at Ginny's excitment, it was almost up there with his. He was sure everything would be clean and tidy and perfect, hence forth why he was getting Ginny to help him out. "Perfect, that's why I asked you to help Gin, and not my crazy future mother-in-law." he laughed, the both of them knowing exatly what Fleur Weasley was like on her planning days. He raised his eyebrow as she said not to tell Harry anything. "Oh, and how are you, Mrs. Ginny Potter, suppose to hide something this big from your husband? He'll be able to tell right away something's up." Ted laughed. He watched Ginny go off in her own little world about the night his godfather proposed to her. "No, but I'm sure you'll tell me." he laughed, shaking his head slightly at her. - - - - - - - - - - WORDS?: 274 TAGS?: Ginneh LYRICS?: --- OUTFIT? Here: COMMENTS?: >3

She smiled and slapped him playfully."Watch it you, your not to big for me to take over my knee and spank!" she said and then laughed and continued walking down the street with him.She gave him a mothely smile as he said it meant a lot that she thought of him as her own child. "You dont ever need to thank me for it Ted. I love you dear, your one of my babies, and always will be. Even when you have your own little hellions running about and torturing you and Vic," she said with a laugh, imagining the insanity her son's children would cause.
She grinned at him when they finally decided on the plans."That's what I'm here for love. Im sure Fleur would make this ten times harder than it ought to be." she said with a griamce. Fleur could be quite insane when it came to things like this, and Ginny Potter was not one to deal with an insane Fleur. She suddenly remembered something, and that something happened to be one Ted Lupin's apartment."Teddy...what kind of state is your flat in? I do remember the last time I saw it I spent two hours tidying it up, and organizing everything and telling you how to stay organized. Have you been doing as i said? Or do I need to make another trip and help you clean before you propose?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. The last time she had been in that apartment it had been horrific. He had clothes strewn everywhere, dishes not washed in the sink, and all sorts of other things. She had almost had a heart attack. However she had composed herself and had the place spotless in about two hours. She smirked at him when he asked how she would keep this little bit of information away from Harry."Oh that's not a problem, you'd be surprised at some of the things I know about you kids that I haven't told Harry. It is not my place to tell him. I know that when the time is right that you lot will tell him. And this is one of those things that I shant be telling him." she said simply. She knew what and what not to tell her husband, and besides her children were the ones who needed to tell their father what was happening in their lives, it was not her place to tell him.
She smiled at Teddy when he said she was sure she was going to tell him how Harry had proposed."Well, it was Christmas Eve, as corny as that may sound, and we were at the Burrow. I had gone outside to watch the snow, and Harry had gone to talk to your my dad. I didn't know exactly what he was speaking to Dad about, but I found out later that he was aking for permission to marry me. Well as I said I was on the porch watching the snow when Harry came out. He told me that he loved me, and didn't want to ever be without me. That was when he went to pull the ring out of his pocket. But, he slipped and the ring fell into the snow. Poor Harry spent a good twenty minuets trying to find the ring, sputtering the whole time about how his proposal wasn't going the way he planned. He found the ring and then proposed properly, I of course said yes. It was adorable how it all happened, and I still to this day can't help but giggle a bit about how it all happened." she said laughing a bit at the end."But it was memorable and I wouldn't trade the way Harry proposed for all the gold in Gringotts." she said smiling up at her son.

- - - - - - - - - - Ted laughed as she threaten to spank me. "You haven't done that since I was seven, and I doubt you can get all this muscle to be held down." he say, flexing and laughing. Him and Harry had always had this joke, Harry when he returned from training to become an Auror had teased everyone about his good shape. They would flew their arms and show off, and Ted began to follow in his godfather's footsteps when six, saying he had lots of muscles too. Too bad for Ted he never got anything truly massive until he went away for training. He was pulled out of his day dream when Ginny mention their kids. Him and Vic had always been teased about how terrible their kids would be, considering how much of a terror he and her used to be. Well, Vic was influenced under him, he was the true terror. "Our kids are going to be so terrible we'll be banished from Christmas at the Burrow. Seriously, I was a terror as a child, Vic was easily influence, combine that with appearance changing skills and Veela charm.. these kids will be the end of the world." Ted let out a heartfelt laughing and sighing, the image of a little blonde hair girl with his grey eyes popped into mind, as it always did when talking about his kids with Vic.
Ted grimaced as well. His soon-to-be-hopefully mother-in-law had her ways of making situations such as these into terrible, frightening things. With long, stuffy dress robes for him, and snowball dresses for Vic. As she asked about his apartment he looked at anything but her. "It's ummm.. it's better since Vic has moved in.. still a little bit of a dive though...." he said, knowing she would insist on coming and cleaning it in an instant. He thought his apartment was a nice clean spot until Ginny came and began cleaning for two hours straight. Harry had told him to let her just do her thing, that there was no stopping her now, so the two of them played a game of chess then some wizard snaps as Ginny cleaned his entire apartment, which was fairly small, he didn't understand what took her so bloody long to clean it. With a sigh and a hand to his hair, he nodded his head. "That would be for the best, I want this night to be perfect." he told her , smiling slightly.
As Ginny retold the tale of how her husband proposed, he could only smile. That was such a Harry thing to do, to get nervous and drop the ring in the snow. He could see how happy she was recalling the tale, and wondered if Vic would be the same when he proposed, when ever anyone ask how he had done it, she'd be the one to do it and tell the story with so much happiness it would make his heart melt with happiness. Ted smiled up at his mother-for-all-intensive-purposes. Would Vic really want this right now? What if it was too early. He took the bag and placed it on the table, taking the ring out and examining it. "What if she's not ready Ginny? What if I'm going too fast?" he said, his voice barely audible. This is what freaked him out the most, the fact that she could simply said she wasn't ready and move on from the fact, leaving Ted heartbroken. All he wanted was Vic to become his wife, all he ever wanted from since he left, but what if she wasn't ready to be his not quite yet?
