Ginny sighed exasperatedly. Shehad cleaned the house from top to bottom(again),and already had dinner on, all she had to do was find Lily's diary and make sure Aurora got it to her. However, Ginny was having a hard time finding her youngest's diary in her room, which was to Ginny's chargrin a utter mess."Lily Luna Potter, I will either be sending you a howler very soon, or you and I will be having a nice long chat about staying organized just as soon sa you get home for Christmas." she muttered to herself as she threw a load of dirty clothes into a hamper.
She had looked quite possibly everywhere in her daughter's room, and still no diary. She had to find the bloody book before Harry got home, Lily had told her about some of the things she had written in there, and well Harry did not need to be reading that. It was not only Lily's personal thoughts, but his head would most likely explode after he read some of the stuff in the book, and Ginny personally liked her husband's head where it was.
Ginny sighed again and went to the closet. It was the one place she had not searched yet, she was afraid of what might happen when she opened the door. Judging by the state of Lily's room, she was pretty sure her child's closet would be in just as bad, if not worse a state as the room had been. She slowly opened the doors, and to Ginny's surprise the closet was actually neat. All of Lily's clothes were hung up properly, and there was not a pile of stuff at the bottom of it. Ginny had actually expected a whole bunch of stuff to come tumbling out when she opened the doors, but no, it was actually very neat."Alright Lils, no howler, but we're still having a talk when you get home." she muttered with a smile, which soon turned back into a frown when she saw that there was no diary in the closet either.
Ginny shut the closet doors, and sat down on Lil'y's newly made bed. She just did not know where her daughter would have put that book. Sighing yet again Ginny went and straightened one of the pillows, which oddly, had a hard rectangular lump in it. Ginny smirked to herself. So that's where Lily hid her diary she thought and quickly grabbed the small book from out of the pillow case. Now all she had to do was get it sent off to Lily before Harry got home. She left the bedroom with the book in hand and started down the stairs to go send the diary off with Aurora so that Lily would have her diary back within the next day or so.

It had been a long, stressful day at work. But then again, what wasn't stressful about his life? His Home life didn't count either, because that was practically cheating. But, having three children wasn't exactly easy, especially when all three children were off at school, and you were constantly getting Owls saying that something or another had been forgotten back at home. Next time, Harry was going to make a check list for Albus and Lily before they left for school. He needed worry about James, because his eldest would be graduating from Hogwarts at the end of the school year.
Harry himself had never finished his schooling. So for James to being doing so; Harry was extremely proud of his son. While James may have thought he was living in a shadow, Harry didn't see it that way. He saw his children for their own persons, each one unique in the qualities they had. And in Harry's opinion, James was already so much better off than Harry. He had had so much more than he; in every aspect of his life. But children would be children, and they would never realize what they had until it was gone.
He sat at his desk, watching the clock intently, as if waiting for it to sprout legs and run away -something Harry wouldn't be surprised about, even if it had sprouted legs. He should have been finishing the report on his desk, but he decided he would take it home and do so. It would take him five minutes if that to finish what he had started. Quickly diverting his eyes from the clock, he stuffed everything that he needed to take home with him semi-neatly into his bag, before resuming his intense staring contest at the clock.
As soon as the clock struck the hour, Harry was up out of his seat and in the lift. He bounced impatiently on the balls of his heals as the lift clattered noisely towards the Atrium. He gave his greetings to his fellow Ministry workers, answering questions here and there about something or another. When the Lift clattered open, he exited with the throng of people going home. One quick look at the fireplaces told Harry that the Floo network was backed up, lines already begining to form. Muttering slightly to himself, he approached the designated Apparation site, turned on the spot, and vanished.
The feeling of being squeezed through a rubber tube engulfed him, his breath catching in his chest. As quickly as the sensation came, it vanished. He sighed in relief, appearing on the front porch steps of his Home. Turning, he entered his house. "Shoo, Micky. Get!" he said, waving off the cat. He swore the cat had it out for him and his paper work. Maybe it was a sign though. Perhaps he should stop bringing so much work home.
He looked up, hearing Ginny coming down the steps, He raised a brow, hanging his cloak on the rack. "A diary? That has to be Lily's. I'm sure the boys don't keep one." he said. His paternal instinct kicked in, and he had a sudden desire to know what was in that book. If there was any boy's he, Harry, would have to have a nice little 'chat' with them. Ginny had been decending the steps when her husband had entered.Oh dear! she thought. She sighed and then looked back up at Harry."Yes Love, it is Lily's, but I am afraid that I told her neither of us would be reading it." she said raising an eyebrow at her husband as if to say "If you're even thinking that you had better forget about it." She walked down the rest of the steps and pressed a small kiss to her husband's lips."How was work?" she asked with a small smile.
She walked into the kitchen and pulled the pork roast and new potatoes she had been cooking out. She took a knife and fork and cut the meat open to make sure it had cooked all the way. She smiled at Harry again"Dinner's ready." she said brightly. She made them both a plate and set them on the table. She took some silverware and napkins out and set them with the plates.
She took the diary into the kitchenand set it down on the counter, and then went into the office harry kept to get a small box to out it in. She wanted to make sure Lily's diary got to the school in one piece. She looked at Harry placing both hands on her hips before going into the office"And Harry James Potter, dont you even think about reading her diary while i go get a box to put it in. I will know if you have." she said and then walked into the office and grabbed the right size box, and a bit of tape, and then walked back to where Harry was, hoping to God he had not decided to try and brake into their daughter's diary to read whatever she had written in it.

Harry caught the warning look on his wife's face. He raised a brow, eyes focusing again on the dairy clasped safely in her hands. Well, now he wanted to read it more than anything. He looked back at his Wife, shrugging his shoudlers. "What?" he asked innocently. He returned the kiss before groaning slightly at the mention of work.
"Like always, there's not enough time in the day to complete it all. Naturally I brought quite a bit home." he said to her, raising his brief case lifelessly. He set it down against the wall, before loosening the tie around his neck slightly. "Had to accompany an Under aged wizard to the Ministry for a hearing. Apparently he wasn't to fond of his Muggle Aunt's cat and decided he would try to light it on fire. Sixth offense, and the kid's still got off. I personally think there's gold being exchanged, but that's the Improper Use of Magic's office. Can't really do anything about it." he said.
He followed his wife into the kitchen, sitting down. No sooner had he sat down was the cat already up on his lap. He sighed, scratching the cat behind it's ears. "Your gonna get me in trouble for being up here." he said to it. He looked up when his wife said dinner was ready. He gently pushed the cat off his lap and sat up, thanking his wife for the food.
He eyed the diary again as she placed it on the counter. His gaze snapped back to his wife as she threatened him, full name and all. "And if I do?" he asked her. He stared at the dairy on the counter as she walked up the stairs. He swear it was getting bigger, taunting him. He felt his heart beating against his rib cage in his chest as he gripped his silverware.
When Ginny came back, he jumped slightly from the table, pointing at the book. "I didn't read it I swear! But it's getting bigger and taunting me. What's in it? I know there's a boy's name in there. Who is he? Do I have to kill him? How old is he? What house is he in... not that it matters. Is he decent? It better not be the Malfoy boy." he said quickly.

She watched her husband raise a brow at her and then glance back down at the diary. She snorted when he looked up at her innocently and asked "what?" She shook her head and smiled at her husband. She listened to him talk about his day at work, and then glanced at the breif case he was holding."Is it the same kid you had to accompany last moth darling?" she asked him as she walked into the kitchen.
She watched as Mickey hopped up onto Harry's lap, and then smiled as he shooed the cat away. She set the plates she had been holding and looked at Harry "I swear that cat gets fatter everyday." she muttered. She ran up the stairs and hunted down all the things she needed from her husband's office and sat the box and tape on the counter and then placed the diary into the box and started to tape it shut. She laughed when she saw his face, and at his comment about the diary taunting him"Its just a book love, relax. Tell you what if your good, I'll give you a back massage after dinner." she said smiling at Harry. She continued to tape the box shut listening to Harry rant about what was in the diary. However her head snapped up when she heard him say something about the Malfoy boy."Wh-how?"she stammered. Oh merlin, this was going to be interesting.
Ginny knew for a fact that the boy Lily liked was none other than Scorpius Malfoy, and now she was about ready to have a heart attack. How did Harry Know? Or better yet what was he going to do now that he knew. This was deffinetly not good. Harry was not going to be happy. And worse yet, Lily would be heartbroken if Harry did something that made the boy not want to date her. Ginny had to do something and she had to do something fast.

He sighed, nodding his head. “Yes, it’s the same boy. If you’ll remember I actually had to accompany him the time before that too.” He said with a shake of his head. He remembered when he’d been on trail for his first real use of magic outside of school. IT had been to protect his cousin Dudley and himself from Dementors. Turns out, it was Dolores Umbridge who sent the Dementors after him to shut him up. Well, she got her’s in the end.
He rolled his eyes, catching his wife’s muttered words. “I know he’s getting fatter. He sleeps on me at night.” He said to her. He looked at the items his wife came down with from his office. He watched as his wife began to pack away the Diary. “Just a book? That’s not just a book.” He said to her, pointing at it as if it had committed a great wrong doing.
And then his wife’s stammer. How. His mouth fell open as he stared at his wife without actually seeing her. The Malfoy boy. His little girl was in love with the Malfoy boy? He opened and closed his mouth repeatedly like a fish out of water. “Lily likes Malfoy.” He finally managed to gasp out. He stared at her again, his green eyes holding a faraway look. “No. Let me see that book.” He said, getting up and making for the Diary. “My Little Flower’s not old enough to date.” He said, reaching for the Diary.

She looked at Harry and shook her head."That boy will never learn Harry. I suppose you'll be accompanying him next month." she said with another shake of her head. That boy was ridiculous, he really ought to have been expelled by now, or something! But as usual someone was probably being payed off.
She laughed at his comment about the cat."That's true. Wait till the kids are home, Lily will have him in her room every night and then you wont have to be bothered by it." she said with a small laugh. It was true, Lily and Albus loved the cat, Harry, James and Teddy did not even remotely like it.
She laughed again as Harry said the diary was not just a book"Yes Harry it is. It just has all of our daughters personal thoughts in it though." she said exasperatedly. Harry really never did give up. He was stubborn as a mule, something that could either be adorable, our annoying as hell. Right now he was being annoying.
She cringed, she had just given away Lily's secret, well damn! she watched him open and close his mouth several times, and then stand and try to grab the diary."Harry, Lily isnt a baby anymore, she's fifteen, she's going to want to date, and well she's quite taken with the Malfoy boy" Ginny said backing away from Harry with the diary. Harry lunged for it"No Harry! This is Lily's and you are not going to read it!" she said and ran up the stairs to their bedroom with the book.

He sighed lightly at his wife’s comment. “No Need to tell me that.” He said to her. Harry knew perfectly well that the boy wasn’t going to learn. “If I have to take him again next month, I’ll personally lead an investigation into the matter. It’s getting ridiculous.” He said. He had better things to do with his time other than escorting some cocky kid. Even though it had been years since he had defeated Voldemort, there were still quite a few Death Eaters who had escaped the law by telling some form of a lie. And Harry was trying to sort through the evidence he had to pick out the liars and send them off to Azkaban.
He snorted, laughing lightly at Lily’s words. “Yeah. Until she goes back to school. Then it’s back on my face.” He said. He hated the cat. Harry had never been a fan of cats himself. However, he knew that his wife was a cat lover and well… he didn’t dare argue with her about getting rid of him.
There was absolutely NOTHING remotely funny about the diary. And it wasn’t just a book! He hit the table with his hand as if to prove his point. “Exactly! Personal thoughts. Air go, it’s not just a book.” He said to her, as if this would explain everything and anything. And in Harry’s paternal state of mind, it did.
He scoffed slightly. Lily wasn’t a baby anymore… who was she fooling? It sure wasn’t him. “She is so a baby. Fifteen is WAY too young to be dating. It’ll never last! I’m just doing my job in protecting her from a future heart break.” He said. Malfoy. There were multiple reasons as to why Harry hated the name. And it all led back to his school days with Draco Malfoy. How often had he suffered at the hands of his Slytherin rival? How many times was he or his father, Lucius, the cause of so much pain in Harry’s life?
No, he wouldn’t allow his daughter to go through that. He would protect his little girl. “I know bloody well who it belongs to! I’m not going to ground her or anything! I just want to read it and make sure she’s not doing anything she’s supposed to! Like Snogging!” he said, running up the stairs after his wife. He took the steps two at a time and caught her in the hallway, wrapping an arm around her small waist. “Hand it over Ginny.” He said, reaching for the Diary with his other hand.

Ginny nodded at Harry's words, that boy would never learn unless some sort of action was taken."Good love, I hate how you have to waste your time doing things like that because some stupid boy refuses to behave. Its bloody ridiculous." she said. She laughed at his comment about Micky."Oh come on now Harry sweetheart, he isnt that bad. He's a very sweet kitty." she said picking up the cat and holding it like a baby and petting it as it purred happily. She set it back down and smiled at her husband."Besides if you dont want him getting fat then stop feeding him table scraps." she said giving Harry a pointed look.
She jumped a little when Harry hit the table with his fist."Oh bloody hell Harry! Its her private thoughts. PRIVATE!!!" she said her hands going back to her hips. Harry was slowly strating to make her angry, and when she was angry it was never a good thing."If anything I'm saving you! She most likely talks about some very personal FEMINIE things!" she said raising an eyebrow at Harry. If Lily was anything like herself she knew what some of the stuff her daughter had written in there. She also knew it would probably make Harry's head explode.
She snorted at his next comment." Harry, do you remember how old I was when we started dating the first time? I was FIFTEEN! Now then, dont you think your being just a little bit hypocritical?" she asked exasperatedl. For Merlin's sake Harry could really be a child sometimes."She is not a baby." Ginny said to Harry emphasizing each word.
She heard what her husband said as she ran up the stairs and had almost made it to their room when she felt an arm wrap around her waist and felt herself being turned around and pulled against Harry. She shook her head when he told her to hand it over and smacked the hand that was trying to reach for the book away."No Harry, your not reading our daughter's diary." she said.
She was deffinetly caught in a tight position at the present time. She had to get the diary away from Harry, but it just so happened that Harry had a pretty tight grip on her. Well damn, how am I supposed to get out of this? she thought to herself. She had to get the diary sent to Lily before Harry read the bloody thing.

rugged his shoulders. “Someone’s got to do it. And like I said, it won’t last long.” He said. Harry disliked corrupt officials. And when he had to work with them, well… Harry still had quite a temper that he had to control. He snorted, looking at the cat. “There’s nothing sweet about that cat. It’s evil.” He said, glaring at it slightly. He then grinned sheepishly at his wife. “I feel sorry for him. That cat food can’t be half as good as what we eat.” He said.
He chose to ignore the ‘private’ part. As far as Harry was concerned, nothing was private. Especially when it involved his kids. He watched as his wife placed her hands on her hips, reminding him severely of her mother. “I can handle feminine things. That’s fine. I’m just interested in the boy part.” He said to her. But now that she got him thinking, he was rather curious as to what went on through his baby girl’s head. Like most Dad’s, Harry got the impression that his kids hated him. Like really hated him. And well, Harry couldn’t live with that fact.
He raised his hand as if to prove a point. “Exactly. And I hurt you and I was sixteen at the time. Granted, our case was different but the fact was that I. Hurt. You.” He said to her. It had been he who had broken up with Ginny the first time. But he had done it for her safety. He had still loved her dearly, even as he was hiding all over the country. “And she’s still my baby.” He said to her. There was no way Ginny was going to change his mind on that.
He pulled her closer to his body, tightening his grip on her but not enough to harm her. Harry didn’t look it, but he was extremely strong for his small size. “I don’t want to read it, I want to skim it. Totally Different.” He said to her. He kept trying to make grabs for it, even as she batted his hand away. “Give me a good reason as to why I should just let this go. You know how good I’m behaving? My instincts are telling me to just go to Hogwarts, find Scorpius, and kill him.” He said. In Harry’s opinion, he was

She sighed at her husbands words"Well at least its getting done right darling." she said sending him a soft smile. She laughed at his next comment."Now now Harry he isnt evil, he just doesnt like you, Ted, or James." she said with a laugh." And I swear, if I catch one of you trying to light his tail on fire, someone will be sleeping outside." She said seriously before laughing a bit. She snorted at his comment about the cat food."So you go from hating him to feeling sorry for him because his cat food doesnt look appetizing?" she asked and then burst into giggles."Sometimes I wonder about you love." she said smiling at him.
She raised a brow at his next comment, her hands still firmly placed on her hips."Harry, you are not reading this book. And besides, you need to trust her. She's a good girl, I doubt she's doing anything with boys. And besides if she was I would know. Mother's intuition." she said. And she did know, Lily had told her all about her crush on Scorpius, and Ginny had already suspected that her daughter had a crush on someone, Lily had been acting a bit different the past summer, and Ginny had noticed.
Ginny sighed at his next comment."Yes Harry you did hurt me, but they were different circumstances, I also hurt you my first year if you remember. Albeit, not the same way, but I did in essence hurt you. Its natural. She is going to get hurt at some point by a boy, every girl eventually does, we simply have to deal with it and move on." she said with another soft sigh."Its human nature to hurt each other, there isnt anything anyone can do about it and sheltering her for the rest of her life wont help any, she will just wind up resenting the hell out of us for it later." She gave her husband a gentle smile when he said Lily was still his baby."I know love, she's my baby too. And my only little girl." she said.
She wiggled a little as he tightened his grip on her."Oh please it is not totally different! It is still an invasion of our daughter's privacy and you know it!" She looked up at him when he told her to give him one good reason to not read it."One good reason? How about a couple. One: Its an invasion of our child's privacyTwo:She'll resent the hell out of us if she finds out. And Three: Its showing a lack of trust in her, which I dont know about you, but I happen to trust her. Need any more reasons?" she asked."And you better not go to Hogwarts and do anything to that boy!" she said poking his chest with her free hand.

Harry shrugged his shoulders slightly, feeling a blush creeping up his neck. Harry had always been modest. He didn’t like to think he could do something better than anyone else, and when he was accredited for something, he had a habit of trying to make it seem like nothing, to down grade it. Because to Harry, the actions he did or took weren’t as great as everyone made them out to be. And then the cat, “Yes it is evil. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say that he wasn’t really a cat and we were feeding a Death Eater the whole time. He’s got it out for me.” he said.
But as much as he claimed to hate the cat, he couldn’t help loving it. It was one of those complicated love/hate relationships. He got up and picked up the cat’s dish. He held it up to her face. “Okay, look at this, and then look at the delicious meal you just made. Wouldn’t you feel sorry for him? Besides, I know what it’s like to eat crappy food. So when you get a decent meal, you cherish.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders. Harry could recall days where he was so hungry, he would have eaten the cat food if it meant getting something into his stomach. But that was then, this was now. Harry didn’t much like thinking about his days with the Dursley’s if he could help it.
He rolled his eyes. Since when was this an issue about trust? He raised his brow slightly at Ginny. “I never said I didn’t trust her. I just want to make sure she’s making the right decision.” He said. Ginny just didn’t understand! This was a Dad thing! And it was weird and strange for Harry because he had never had a father figure to look up to for this kind of thing. So this, like everything with his kids, was a ‘learn as you go’ type of deal. And yes, he had hurt her. And while they both accepted the fact that he had done it for an entirely different reason, the fact remained he still hurt her. “You never hurt me in your first year. That was Voldemort. If anything, I was doing the hurting. I was completely ignoring your feelings.” He said.
Of course, at the time Harry hadn’t found girls interesting. And his feelings for Ginny had only been that of an Older Brother. He hadn’t started noticing her until the summer of his Sixth year, and she had been dating Dean Thomas then. He waved his wife off, “She can resent me all she wants as long as she’s not hurt.” He said. Resentment was something that he could live with. Now, if she turned around and flat out hated him without ever speaking to him again… then Harry would have some problems. “Exactly, all the more reason to protect.” Ginny wasn’t helping her case any…
And then his wife listened off the reasons why it would be a bad reason to read the Diary. “I told you. I trust her. It’s him I don’t.” he said to her. He was about to open his mouth to argue further when the word ‘trust’ really sunk in. His daughter could be trusted, and Scorpius couldn’t. That much was a fact. But then again, neither could he. He blinked, looking into his wife’s soft brown eyes as she poked him in the chest. He should tell her… but… If he did, he wouldn’t see the light of day ever again. Ginny wouldn’t let him out of the house. So without another word, he set his wife down, raising his arms in surrender before backing away. “Okay, fine. You win. I won’t read the diary. And I won’t go to Hogwarts and kill him. Besides, if I did that I’d have to arrest myself, and that would be pretty funny actually…” he said.

Ginny rolled her eyes at Harry's comment about the cat."No Harry love, he is just a cat, check him over if you like, but he is just a bloody cat." she said to him seriously before giggling a bit. She laughed when her nusband picked up the cat food and told her to look at it."Yes I'll admit this isn't very appetizing, but he seems to like it. And besides, too much people food and he'll get sick, and/or fatter than he already is. And Harry love, Micky does not need to get any fatter." she said with another laugh.
Ginny sighed and shook her head at her husband."It is a matter of trust. You have to trust her to make her own decisions, you cant make them for her Harry." Ginny said. He really did not seem to grasp the fact that Lily was growing up, and that she could, and would decide who she wanted to date. She sighed at Harry's next comment"I still hurt you though. I hurt a lot of people that year." she said with a small shudder, but shook it off quickly.
Ginny rolled her eyes as Harry said Lily could resent him all she wanted"Harry, she needs to make these decisions for herself. Just trust her. And you really dont want your daughter to resent, or hate you because of something as silly as her liking a boy now do you?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. She truly wondered how her husband could be so thick at times, it really was quite amazing how bloody stubborn Harry could be, not nearly as stubborn as Ron, but he was a close second to her brother.
"Harry if you trust her than you wouldn't be trying to read her diary now would you? She's a good girl, its not like she's doing anything, and besides, like I've said, she's old enough to make her own decisions. We have to let her do that now." she said firmly. She was not about to let this go, Lily was a big girl and could date if she wanted to.
Ginny was soon shocked however when Harry just let go of the subject. Something was up, and Ginny could tell. Harry never let anything go that quickly. He was too bloody stubborn, this was odd. What had he done that he did not want to tell her about? Or was there something going on already that he had not told her? Well whatever it was Ginny was going to find out, hopefully in the next minuet or so."Harry....what the bloody hell is going on? You never just let something go. Your too stubborn. What have you done, or arent telling me?" she said, she was slightly worried, and angry.

He grinned slightly at his wife. "Of course he's only a cat. I checked to make sure when we first got him..." he said, his grin turning sheepish. Hey, when it came to his life and the life of his family, he wasn't taking chances. He had had enough adventure for twelve lifetimes during his school years. He rolled his eyes at his wife slightly. "I'm not saying he needs to get fatter. I'm just saying that our food is more appealing than his. It tastes a lot better to." he said.
And how would Harry know what Cat food tasted like? Well, curious, dumb Harry had decided to eat it... on a dare. Yes, it was amazing what the Magical World's hero did with his Best Mate when they weren't working and were just hanging out. It was quite comical really.
He sighed as he looked at her. "I told you. I trust her. It's him I don't." he said. Was he still missing a point here? Yes probably. But he was in 'Over Protective Father' Mode. He then waved off the comment about their daughter resenting him over a boy. "She'll learn to get over it eventually." he said. Yes, Harry could be quite the stubborn one when he wanted to be. It was funny because Ginny herself was quite stubborn. So when the two got started, the Weasley family usually started to bet to see who would be the first one to cave.
This was getting no where... fast. And well, Harry was starting to become slightly exhausted. Now that he was starting to think things through as an adult and not a parent, he was seeing that Ginny was right. So it was easier because of that (and another reason...) for him to snip his stubbornness in the butt. He blinked, looking at his wife. ...This wasn't looking good.
"Nothing. Why would you say or think that?" he asked her, hoping he didn't look as panicky as he felt.
