Harry smiled lightly at Penny. "It's a pleasure to meet you. James spoke very highly of you in his letters home." he said. She was an extremely nice young lady. Harry wondered vaguely how his son had managed to find such a lady. There was no questioning that Harry and James were more alike than they both realized it. Harry saw more and more of himself in his eldest son all the time. The shyness around girls was only a small bit that James had, unfortunately, inherited from Harry.
He raised his brow, seeing how preoccupied his son was. He followed his gaze quickly, spotting the Slytherin girl who Lily had dueled with just recently. She was with another dark haired boy. He raised a brow slightly, before looking back at his son. However, he wasn't going to question anything. He had a vague understanding of how his son must feel, although at the same time, he didn't. It was hard for Harry to relate to his children at times because he didn't have any siblings to worry over. Sure, he loved Hermione as a Sister, but his bond with his Sister-In-Law was only a fraction of how close Lily and James were. When he heard his son say Lily was over there, he turned, his green optics moving to where he pointed.
It wasn't very difficult to spot his daughter. Her vivid Weasley Hair made her stand out. Harry always thought that Ginny looked exactly like her mother. Hell, she had the fiery temper to pass as her twin, but the temper could have came from either him or Ginny. He watched as a Boy came up to her... Wood's boy, Tormund. And then he saw him kiss her. Harry felt the familiar Overprotective Paternal instinct stir within. His jaw set slightly before turned back to his son and girlfriend, taking a long drink of his Butterbeer, draining the bottle. Yup, not strong enough. He waved the Bartender down and ordered a Firewhiskey.
Harry really didn't like the drink, nor could he hold his alcohol but hey... he really needed this NOW. He took a long drink of the Whiskey as soon as it was set down in front of him, emptying half the bottle. He felt the familiar burn as the amber liquid was swallowed. Soon the familiar burning of the eyes made them water. He sighed, as he set the bottle down, making a slight face. Merlin he hated the stuff. He looked up, feeling his Godson's hand on his shoulder, just seconds after hearing his voice. He smiled lightly, pulling him into a one armed hug slightly. "Hey Ted." he said.
James answered the question before Harry could. He turned to his Godson. "I thought she was coming with you? Or hasn't she finished putting her make up on? I gave her a short shift today... Plenty of time for Make up." he said, smiling slightly. He then noticed another young man around Ted's age come up, saying Penny's name. He knew the boy. He had been in school around the same time as Ted. He had only met him a few times at Parties. "Hullo Tristan. Having a good time?" he asked politely. There was something about Tristan that set him on edge, however Harry pushed that feeling aside.
His attention was then drawn to Lily as she came over, hugging her brother with what looked like enough force to topple Hagrid. "Hi Sweetie." he said, choosing to ignore the fact that he had seen someone kissing her... Ginny would be extremely proud of him for that... She would say that he was 'trusting' her more. And Harry still stuck with what he said. He trusted her... Not the boys.

Penny thanked James as he passed her, her drink and she took a sip of the warm liquid as Harry spoke towards her again, "It's a pleasure to meet you. James spoke very highly of you in his letters home."Penny giggles some and smiled a little shyly, hoping that she wasn't blushing. So either James had mentioned her before, or Harry Potter was just being super nice to her. Either way, it seemed like Harry didn't hate her yet, which was a plus! Then an older boy made his presence known, and Penny giggled as he greeted her with 'girl I dont know the name of!' She have to quickly move back as James exclaimed "Ted! Hey, how's it going?" and pulled 'Ted' into a hug. James had told her about his 'pretty much a brother' Theodore Lupin, or 'Teddy' as he was known. James had told her he was a cheery bloke who had, until recently been travelling around eruope, but now he was back and about to marry James cousin, ..Vic? Gods it was confusing... Once they eventually parted Penny smiled at the new face, "Hello," She waved a little in greeting as James introduced her as his girlfriend. "Penny Matthews." Yet another new voice, though this time it was recognised. And sure enough ermurged the farmiliar face of Tristan Hunter, a family friend. Penny wasn't completely sure how Tristan had become so close to her parents, but she had a vague recollection of someone telling her it had something to do with the hospital. Penny smiled, "Hey Tristan," She was fond of the guy, being an only child and he being around quite often she supposed it was sort of like an older brother - type figure in her life. Though he got along much better with her parents, sharing some of their pureblood elitest views (even though those views were somewhat diluted these days..) and that, of course, didn't really sit well with the young Ravenclaw. But then, on the other hand, Tristan had always been so nice to her, ever since her first year at Hogwarts when she was lost and new... Turning to James she smiled, motioning with her free hand that wasn't holding the glass of butterbeer towards Tristan, "This is Tristan Hunter, uh, a family friend." She explained. Gods it was getting crampt in the little pub and Penny was trying to keep her nerves in check. New people arriving ever second.. Speaking of, Lily Potter was the next to make an appearence, she greeted everyone and Penny smiled and waved a little in response. She watched as Lily hugged James like it was the last time she was ever going to be able to in her life... For that moment, Lily had taken James from beside her, and as soon as James moved, another random person had taken his place. And for that split second, Penny felt a sudden tightness in her chest. Oh crap no... She flat out refused to let herself succomb to another panic attack. Not tonight... Penny raised her glass to her lips and took a generous gulp of Butterbeer... Maybe she should have chosen something a little stronger, maybe then her nerves would settle a little... As soon as James was released from the vice like grip of Lily, Penny reached out and grabbed his hand, reigning him back over to her. A nervous smile plastered across her lips. "Don't leave me okay?" She asked quietly, hoping that no one else would hear her, with the general noise of the room she figured would be enough to mask her voice from anyone close by. She gave his hand a squeeze. - - - - - - - - - Ted smiled as James reached out to him. Even though he had already been back for almost two months, he had yet to seen James. Ted grabbed his brother's hand and pulled him into a hug. "James man, it's been too long, but every thing's brilliant." he said, and was about to ask him how he was doing when he introduced him to Penny, his girlfriend. The last time he saw James was when he was a little kid pretty much, his voice hadn't dropped like it was now so it surprised him when he heard James's voice at first. But James and girlfriend? He thought he never see the day.
A wide, mischievous grin grew on his face as he looked at Penny. He could tell she was a sweet girl, one he would of gone after if there was no Victoire. Now was time for payback. Hell knew that James wasn't getting off so easy for those years ago back on the platform where he was secretly giving Vic her own goodbye, little itty James comes along and then blabs about them to the entire family. Yes, Vic got letters about it, but he had to head back to the Burrow and answered everyone's questions about him and Vic, how long had they been going out, why didn't they tell them, and if they really were going out, and how he asked her and yadadada. It had been brutal, but he supposed it was because they had all foreseen it for years. Oh yes, James would be tortured, just not at the moment. "So I get engaged and owl you, but you yet to mention to me you've got a girlfriend?" Ted laughed and James. He had of course heard of this said girlfriend through Harry, but as Ted realized now most of his letters between him and James were just about Ted, and for James about school and catching up. They'd have to plan a real date to catch up, probably involving James sneaking out of the castle. He wondered if he was too wimpy to do that.
Ted smiled as Harry gave him a one arm hug. "Hey Harry, every thing's fine at the Ministry. Ron said he take care of everything." Ted told Harry. He shook his head as Harry said he though Vic was coming with him. "Probably hasn't finished yet. I never understand why it takes so bloody long for her to get ready, but she's a hell of a looker when she's done." Ted chuckled, knowing that he'd probably get a few eye rolls for that one. When James said he hadn't seen her either, Ted did a small victory cheer to himself. "Yes! Told her I'd beat her. Ha, my victory includes a make-out session in our corner of the bar." Ted chuckled, remembering the days he and Vic would come down to Hogsmead together and come into The Three Broomsticks. Sure, the tea shop was nice for every once in awhile, but the place was always so crammed with people, last time they had went he was literally back to back with another guy. Here, there was much more room. He wondered in the table still had the T&V in a heart that he had etched one frosty afternoon with Vic. She of course got mad at him for vandalizing but she couldn't keep the smile off her face.
Ted looked up as James called his sister over. Wow she had changed in the past years. He sent her a warm smile but it was never received, since some guy was attacked her with his mouth, or at least that's what he wished he could call it, so he could go and beat the bloke up. His hand tightened on Harry's shoulder before relaxing as Lily walked over. "Lily-Bo Billy! It's been too long!" he said, stepping in front of Harry to engulf Lily into a giant bear hug. "Holy, you've grown, you're taller then my legs now." Ted chuckled as he placed her back on the floor, smiling at his little sister. - - - - - - - - - -WORDS?: 710 TAGS?: Anyone! She watched carefully to see if she'd been noticed by the older Gryffindor boy, and sure enough, he saw her. So did Penny, who smiled, if you could call it that. James seemed somewhat... something to see her with Luc. Chasity wasn't entirely sure what his expression was. Incredulous? Angry? Confused? Maybe some combination of the three, and something else. As she stopped at the bar, she looked back in time to see him say something to his father then look back at them. He waved a moment later, but could have easily been aiming at his sister. She started to give her own wave when he called out Lily's name. She blushed and looked at the ground. He hadn't been trying to get her attention after all. She realized that Luc had asked her something while she was distracted, and hoped it was about a drink when she replied, Something strong, please. It is a party, right? The Three Broomsticks was packed tonight with plenty of adults and students alike, and it wouldn't be too much to ask for a firewhiskey. It would hopefully calm her nerves. She rarely drank anything harder than butterbeer, but the night called for it.
She pointedly ignored James and looked up at Luc, who a good bit taller than she was. I'm glad you asked me to the party. It would have been rotten to be here alone, and I couldn't think of a better date. She ran her hand down his arm as she smiled. She knew how to flirt, and had practiced the art many times in the past, but usually it was simply part of her manipulating ways. It was anther thing entirely to flirt only for the sake of flirting. She tried to push away the memory of kissing James not too long ago, but it was difficult. She was standing here with a very good looking guy and trying to give all of her attention to him, and at the same time she was completely aware of James standing not too far away introducing his family to his girlfriend. Maybe the reason Chasity had never been in love before was because love was so terribly complicated.

Oh, once you get involved, Everyone will look this way-so, You must maintain your charm, Same time maintain your halo, Just get the perfect blend, Plus what you have within, Then next his eyes are squint, Then he's picked up your scent,- - - - - - - - Victoire appreaciated her shorter shift at the Ministry today. She loved getting dressed up for parties. This was for Halloween so, it was just a little bit more fun. Not to mention there had been a little bet made between herself and Ted. Ted was pretty positive he would beat her to the party, which was being held at Three Broomsticks. Victoire, being as stubborn as she was, denied it. She knew it would never work out. She had to go home, and do up her hair and make up. At Ted had to do was change his clothes and hair. The hair would take him a total of three seconds. He had an advantage. Even with a little help from magic, Victoire still spent a few hours getting herself ready.
In the end, VIctoire ended up abandoning the wig she had gotten to use with her costume. Her hair was already blonde. She simple curled it a little, and added a black headband with a bow. It was something simple but, she had taken her time, making sure everything was perfect. Triple checking herself one last time, Victoire apparated to Hogsmeade, right outside Three Broomsticks. She didn't even get the chance to go inside before someone stopped her. An old friend, from Hogwarts. The two girls did a bit of catching up. Victoire, of course, had to show off her engagement ring and the normal girlish squeeling and wedding talk took place.
After was seemed like forever, Victoire was able to get inside. She looked around, and as usual, a few stopped and stared at her. She paid no mind to them. Vic was out to find Ted, expecting to hear him gloat about how he got here before her. She had to sift through several people until she found familiar ones. James was just nearly toppled by a red headed girl, Victoire could only guess to be her cousin Lily, James' sister. From James, she saw a brown haired girl, she automatically knew was Penny. Her bright eyes shifted again, to Lily throwing arms around someone else. This someone else was blocked by her Uncle Harry. It must be Ted. She sighed and shook her head, let the gloating begin.
Casually, Victoire walked up behind the group, nudging her Uncle's shoulder. She peered around Ted to wave at James. She glanced down at Lily. Vic smiled, once Lily was done talking to Ted, she was prepared of the giggling and questions that were bound to come from Lily about the engagement. Next, her eyes traveled to the exact person she was happily engaged to. The one person she couldn't wait to marry, Ted. It wouldn't take him long to figure out she was standing behind him.

Post by Tristan Hunter on Nov 10, 2009 0:06:49 GMT -5
“Hello Mr Potter” he greeted his elder politely with respect. Sure, Tristan wasn’t Harry’s greatest supporter and the man irritated him at times with his overly good attitude but he wouldn’t deny the man’s triumph and capabilities. Regardless of how much Tristan disliked him, he had achieved a lot in his life that the young man looked up to in some respects. The dark haired boy wasn’t too fond on the concept of black and white however, preferring to delve more into the countless shades of gray that made up a complete spectrum. “I am now, thank you” he shot a pleasing look to the young woman who always did captivate his attention. Merlin, the things she done to him and what made his feelings all the more strong was that the Hogwarts student didn’t even realise. She spoke his voice and he smiled his dark smile at her, his eyes shining through their darkness at her. If she was that speck of light hidden in the dark, that last shred of hope in pandora’s box, then so be it, she was far more than worthy of that position in his concealed heart.
He nodded a ‘hello’ to James eyeing the boy intently. What did Penny see in this boy? Heritage? That was all he really had. The boy had nerd written all over him, from his body language right down to his costume of a muggle magician. Really? Another muggle lover? Tristan had nothing against muggles, not like many wizards often did, but when you had so much power and magic on your side why pretend to be, or love, something so insignificant. The young man knew James’s costume was not only of Halloween and irony but also of a deeper meaning that showed he had an affinity with muggle entertainment, and the lowest for at that it seemed. Dark eyes set on James as if they could pierce straight through him, the young boy was little match for him yet he was sure any hint of his true feelings for James would upset Penny and that was something he would not allow himself to do. For her sake alone he would continue his deception tonight if it would make her look at him with those kind eyes for even just a few moments longer. He watched her as she glanced to her distasteful boyfriend and could not help but wish she would one day look at him in the same way she let her eyes gaze upon James...One day she would...he would make sure of it.
“Penny? Are you okay?” she asked her softly in his distinctive accent, even behind his lies he truly cared for the brunette and she looked distressed, something he did not like to see in her, he loved her too much to see her unhappy. He stepped towards her a few paces, towering above her, feeling her being as he reached out to her. But it was not him she reached back for...A strong irritation of jealously hit Tristan in his chest, that whirlpool welling up as he watched Penny grab James’s hand with great envy. Why him? What did she seen in that meer boy? What did anyone see in the naive Gryffindor who had no idea what he held beside him.
"Don't leave me okay?" her voice was quiet and not intended for him but he’d heard her words regardless. James was bound to leave her at some point and when he did Tristan would have his moment with her; Tristan would never leave her if she was his. He would show her what love really was, and not this idiotic fantast the boy was making her believe. With him she would see a whole new light on the world for when he was around her his world changed, she lightened even the darkest corners for him and he cherished that magic of hers. She was incredible and she would be his one day when she seen that light.

CHASE ANNABELL WEASLEY Chase frowned and blushed as he heard James voice, he hoped no one would notice her but as always when half of the party is related to you it doesn't work that way. She pulled off her hood and frowned deeper and walked over to them expecting the worst fate. She saw Teddy, Victorie, Harry, James, Lily, Penny, so it seemed almost everyone was here. She walked up and whispered "Hey everyone.." and muttered her her ringlets bounced as she walked towards them. She starred at her leather boots and she shuffled them. She hoped a fireplace wasn't near and Uncle Harry didn't know Dad's floo number... She sent a scowl towards James. Leo 'Bones' Deforest Meanwhile, Bones sat at the bar a glass of firewhiskey on the table and a full glass of it also. He hadn't touched it yet, he was sitting in a bar where disaster was about to happen sickness and just.. no. He shook his head (which was sitting on the nice little silver platter) he taped those white gloved fingers and scowled, he had bags under eyes from a certain number of sleepless nights. --- Chasity’s reply surprised him a touch, not many girls liked anything stronger then butterbeer, but he did as asked and waved the bartender over. “Firewhiskey, two,” Luc handed the man a few coins and two bottles were thrust in front of them. “It is a party,” he agreed, might as well loosen up. He grabbed a bottle when he could hear Chasity speaking again, and he had to duck his head a bit to hear her over the roar of the crowded pub. “I'm glad you asked me to the party. It would have been rotten to be here alone, and I couldn't think of a better date,” Chasity said with a smile as she ran her hand down his arm. Luc raised his eyebrows, but a grin settled on his face. All things considered, he could have done a good deal worse then Chasity. She was very pretty, and very competent at flirting, not to mention she seemed interesting enough. He might not know that much about her, or anything at all really, but she was doing a fine job in pulling him in. Not to mention, for the first time all month he wasn’t constantly looking over his shoulder in search of someone else. Besides, if one couldn’t be with the one they wanted, might as well enjoy the one they were with, right? Leaning over a bit more he spoke next to her ear, “Believe me, the pleasure is all mine.” Straightening up he handed her the bottle he held and picked up the one still on the counter. “Happy Halloween,” he said and took a good long drink. The liquid burned down his throat, and immediately spread across his chest. He sucked in a breath as it went down, it was stronger then he remembered. --- Words: 325 Costume: Here Tag:Chasity/Anyone Comments: Awww

Post by James Potter on Nov 11, 2009 22:39:43 GMT -5
The scene was utter madness. As James waited for Lily to make her way over, he noticed a boy standing behind her. Then this boy proceed to kiss his baby sister in public. James' eyes were about to pop out of his head, when he was distracted with the newest arrivals to the group.
Ted had arrived, making a mention of how James never said anything about Penny in his letters. James gave an eye roll. He wasn't completely sure why he kept it from a secret from Ted. Perhaps he was afraid his quasi-brother would send a letter to the Daily Prophet. Anything to get him back. James inwardly laughed at himself. The two boys had an ongoing battle of playing tricks on one another while making each other completely embarrassed. Though it was still all in good fun.
Once the newest person arrived, James continued to stare at the stranger. Penny introduced this dark character as Tristan, a family friend. James' hand squeezed Penny's a little tighter. Friend or not, this Tristan didn't seem completely right. More people gathered in the pub, and James' eyes wandered around again, though repeatedly reverting back to Tristan. There was just something weird about him. He took a couple long swigs of his butterbeer. He and the beverage had an interesting love affair. It was just so good, and it made him feel so tingly and warm. While continuing to gaze around, of course James' sights landed back on Chasity and Luc. She seemed to forget James even existed. He scowled. He didn't know why. All he knew was that he didn't want to be ignored, especially by Chasity.
His bitter thoughts turned around into happy ones when his little sister Lily pounced on him for a hug, which separated him from his girlfriend. "Lily!" he said laughing as he squeezed her tight. He was go glad that Lily was feeling better and could make it to the festival. But tonight James was being extra careful with her. He wasn't going to let her get hurt again... by anyone. As the brother and sister parted, James noticed that a person and a half made their way in between himself and his girlfriend. Penny's face had the look of nervousness. Suddenly she grabbed his hand and yanked him over, which collided him into the random person that had separated the two. It resulted in James spilling their drink and his own. He muttered a 'sorry' before he closed in on Penny.
"Don't leave me okay?" she said quietly.
"I won't, I promise," he answered while looking deep into her eyes. His free hand reached up to touch her face as he leaned in to kiss her forehead, which caused his top hat to become askew. The intimate moment was broken with the interruption of Tristan. James cheeks blotched a rosy pink in a matter of seconds when he realized how ga-ga he just got over his girlfriend in public... in front of his family. But that feeling soon disappeared and turned into slightly annoyed, when he remembered it was that odd new stranger who interrupted. James rubbed the top of Penny's arm comfortingly, then took a few more sips of his drink which was now already half gone because of the previous spill. It wasn't really a big deal, because James could always get more.
The semi-awkward moment was broken when James glanced over just at the right time to see Victoire sneaking up behind Ted. James smirked as she waved at him. This should be interesting. He smiled as he gave her a discrete wave back. He tried to preoccupy himself with other things, like taking another drink of his butterbeer, so Ted wouldn't notice his actions. As he continued to pretend Vic wasn't there behind Ted, Chase had walked up to the group. She meekly said hello, then gave a scowl at James. He looked at her confusedly for a moment, before smiling and sticking his tongue out at her. He had noticed her shyness and was trying to lighten her mood a little bit. He figured it was hard for her sometimes, being that she was adopted. But James wanted to be sure she felt welcome and that she felt happy.
Getting distracted by all of the action around him, he stared off into space again as he finished up his drink. He looked at the empty mug a bit disappointed because he only got to drink half of it. Ah, well. He twisted around to place the empty mug on the counter and waited for the bartender to come over to him. It was then that he noticed Luc and Chasity drinking Firewhiskey..? Well they were sure in it for the boozing. James chewed the inside of his lip thoughtfully.
"What can I get for ye? A refill?" asked the bartender.
"Erm," James said, spinning his head back around to look at the man. "No. I'll have a Firewhiskey." He pulled out the price in coins and placed them on the counter as he waited for the man to come back with his drink. "Thanks..."
"Careful with that, laddie," the old man said in a jovial tone.
James gave an eye roll as he turned back to his family and the bustling crowd. He did his best to act natural, like it wasn't his first time drinking the stronger alcohol. The first sip almost didn't make it all the way down. On the contrary, it almost showered the top of a House Elf's head. James managed rather painfully to swallow the first gulp. It burned like nothing else James ever tasted before, though as it hit his stomach it left a rather satisfying feeling. The next sip wasn't as hard, now that he knew what to expect. He swirled the contents around in the bottle, as he smacked his lips from the nasty taste. It would take some getting used to.

Penny pulled a bit of a cringey face as James nocked into the guy and spilled half his drink on the floor, luckily it missed both of their clothes just making the floor nice and slippy.. Whoops She should have been more careful when dragging him back over to her, but oh well, needs must and all that. She shot James an apologetic look before she asked him not to leave her as quietly as she could. She felt stupid enough for having to even ask him such a thing as it was, she didn't want everyone else hearing her insecurities out loud as well. "I won't, I promise," Penny let out a breath that was full of relief as James raised a hand and touched her cheek while he kissed her forehead, she smiled some and closed her eyes breifly, somewhat surprised that James was being so intimate with her infront of his vast family gathering, although they all did seem quite preoccupied with each other and greeting every new member that came bustling through the doors every few seconds... “Penny? Are you okay?” Opening her eyes to the voice that she knew belonged to Tristan, Penny shifted her gaze from James to the right, where Tristannow stood, looking concerned. "I'm fine Tristan, honestly." She smiled warming, slightly upset by the fact that he had blatently heard her and James and that he had noticed her distress, though it could have been someone worse than Tristan, at least she'd known him for years, he had seen her upset before now. "I just have a thing about crowds, yaknow?" She thought back to all the times that she and Tristan had spent together over the years, she wondered whether he even knew about her phobia... Either way she was sure her father would have mentioned it to him at some point, maybe after she had had an attack and he had to leave the hospital in a rush or something. It would provoke questions and there was no reason for her father to lie... Other than for the fact that it made his daughter look like a weakling... Maybe that was just cause for witholding the truth in his eyes... "So, anyway Tristan, what have you been doing? it's been so long! Have you seen my father recently? I haven't heard from home in a while..." She smiled, not totally unaware of the unease Tristans presence was having on James, but Penny just put that down to Tristan being a good looking guy and James would probably be slightly frosty to any boy that she was conversing with anyway. She gave James' hand a reassuring squeeze anyway as he went and got himself.. A firewhiskey? Hmm... That could either be a really great dicision or a really bad one... And right now Penny wasn't sure which it was going to turn out to be. Glancing around the now completely packed pub, there were other new arrivals that Penny tried to acknowledge with a small wave or a smile, but she was pretty sure that she had missed some people out... Gods the Potters and the Weasleys... theres about a million of them! She hoped that if she had unintentionally ignored any of them, that they didn't hate her for it, or hold grudges... that would suck. Tag: Anyone! Words: 619 Comments: dududooo

Harry listened to his Godson relay Ron’s message to him. He nodded his head slightly. “Although, that is slightly scary… the thought of Ron having something under control…” he said. Of course, he was just teasing his Best Mate. Ron had come a long way from that awkward gangly boy he had first met on Platform 9 ¾. Harry would trust his life in the hands of his best friend. Ron had already saved his life, which had only helped to strengthen their bond as friends.
He chuckled, hearing about his Niece. Oh yes. He was extremely aware of how long it seemed to take Victoire to get ready for something. Even if it was to a simple family gathering, she felt the need to get all pretty. But Harry had to agree with Ted, she did look stunning when she was finished. Obviously she got that from her mother. But then again, she and Fleur didn’t need to do anything to look good… Being Veela’s and all. And Harry was pretty sure it wasn’t just limited to them. When Ginny wanted to, she could take forever to get ready for something. He scanned the crowd quickly, looking for his wife. Nope, not here yet. Harry frowned slightly, trying to think of what could be taken her so long.
“Do tell Ted, which corner is yours?” he asked, chuckling slightly as he rolled his eyes. Ah to be young and in love… Although, Harry personally wasn’t the type for any intimate moment out in public. That at least he tried to keep behind closed doors… and curtains. And yet it was still surprisingly hard, what with The Daily Prophet snooping around in his trash looking for something to report on. To be honest, it was kind of…. What was the word Harry was looking for? Scary? Disturbing? He could easily imagine some auction going on SOMEWHERE where someone was auctioning off either his old toothbrush or a half-eaten sandwich by him.
Harry’s gaze landed Tristan as he made his way towards Penny. Although his gaze may have appeared just curious, it was calculating. Even though he was just supposed to be enjoying him and attending the festival as ‘Harry Potter the Civilian’, he couldn’t help his Auror instincts which were slowly taking over. Something about the way he looked at Penny didn’t sit right with Harry. And he could tell by his son’s slight reaction that he didn’t like the young man either. And there it was… Subtle, but there.
Jealousy. Envy. Harry found it extremely easy to read most people when they weren’t paying attention towards you. As a by stander, you often absorbed more intellect about a person than if you were talking with them head on. But still… there were a number of things that could have set of these emotions towards his son. He wasn’t aware of the history Tristan had with Penny. And she had introduced them as Family Friends. But still… Something about this didn’t sit right with Harry. He made a mental note to do a slight background check with the young man. Perhaps he would sent his Patronus to Ron and ask him to do it while he was at work. Ginny would kill him if he did anything that looked remotely like Auror Work on his day off.
Taking a sip of his Firewhiskey, he quickly looked over his shoulder, feeling someone nudge it. He smiled up at her pulling her in close as well for a one armed hug. He would have stood up to give her a hug, but he was being extremely lazy at the moment. Plus if he were to stand up for even a nano second, the chances of getting his seat back were slim to none… it was just way too crowded in here. He had half the right mind to go outside.
And then his other niece came over… Chase. He raised a brow slightly at her costume. “Dear Merlin, I think I am getting old.” He said, taking another long drink of his Firewhiskey, finishing the bottle. He waved towards the Bartender, getting another one. Oh, he knew what made Chase fidgety… But he wasn’t going to call Charlie and tell him what his daughter was wearing. That wasn’t his place. And hopefully he would get to drunk to remember anyways.
His gaze was then returned to his son at the look on his face as he took a sip of his beverage. He had to strain to keep his mouth shut from laughing at his son. Oh, it was obvious what the boy was drinking. But again, he was now officially of Age. And well… Harry couldn’t say anything. He had been sixteen when he first had the stuff, toasting to the memory of Hedwig and Mad-Eye Moody.

Wow...as if this boy before him couldn’t make himself look even more juvanille, he’d knocked into a randomer and send half of his drink spilling down the person and the rest onto the floor. Classy. And yet, Penny Matthews returned that lustful look to her boyfr – to....he couldn’t even bring himself to even think it...to James Potter. Ah the presence of this student irritated him, though logically he really had nothing he could say against him other than who and what he was which irked Tristan even more. Another sip of firewhiskey took his gaze to look away. This public display of affection was sickening. Of course, if Tristan was in James’s place there would be no issues against showing your feelings for the world to see. But it wasn’t him holding Penny, it was that other boy, the one that would break her heart and when he did Tristan would be waiting right there for her, to hold her and show her how much she could be loved.
Then she looked at him with her dark eyes and Tristan battled against his feelings showing as his heart melted. Her smile, though small, made such change in the room as she glowed with beauty and nothing else around them mattered, even James he could tolerate with that simple reaction from what he suspected heaven may look like, for in Penny’s smile there was nothing he could imagine being any more beautiful. A simple nod followed as she assured him she was fine, but the perceptive young man knew differently. He’d known Penny for some time, whether she understood how much or not, and he could see she was distressed.
"I just have a thing about crowds, yaknow?"
“I know” he responded quietly. Understanding and true emotion of weakness was something Tristan tended to act before most people these days but nothing had changed with Penny, she was one of the few people he did not need to act in front of. He truly did care for the dark haired angel and his last shreds of care were dedicated to only her. “You’ll be safe here” a reassuring smile passed from him to her with no care if James noticed or not. The Gryffindor had Penny in his arms for the moment but moments passed and changed so incredibly quickly that sometimes one didn’t even bother to look back and dwell on them, maybe Penny would one day see James as only a moment in her life. One thing Tristan knew, if the red headed Potter didn’t keep a firm grip on his girlfriend then someone would steal her away from him. A smirk crossed his face at the thought before he snapped back to the draw of Penny’s voice.
"So, anyway Tristan, what have you been doing? it's been so long! Have you seen my father recently? I haven't heard from home in a while..."
“You must miss your home” he speculated before answering her, “Oh nothing too different since we last spoke. Still working at the ministry, there’s some interesting days but you don’t want to hear about encounters with muggle eating toasters” he grinned teasingly at her almost hoping he made James feel uncomfortable in the process, it could be a fun game of his to do so. He may not have the girl but Trist could certainly unnerve the young Potter if he wished, “Fortunately I haven’t seen your father in some time. He is a great man but usually our meetings involve me being attacked by some curse or foolish wizard’s counter-curse, I’m pleased to say that hasn’t been the case recently, but I have heard that he is good and well. I’ll take a trip to visit him soon, tell him your asking of him” and if she so wished it he honestly would, he would do anything for her, even visit Azkaban at her request.
“How have you been? He treating you right?” Tristan asked Penny quietly, eyes fixed on her as James disappeared from her side to get another drink. He let his dark gaze sweep over her, allowing himself to fall under the spell she always cast over him, the one spell he could not break so easily was hers. James returned and he forced his eyes away from the girl before him. What was that James held? Firewhiskey? Merlin, this could be an interesting night. Tristan watched James as he took a swig of the hard liquor, raising a brow as he waited on the student’s reaction...and there is was...Tristan turned his eyes longingly back on Penelope. It was all he could do not to laugh at this young boy who she thought was worthy of her love...but she’d see differently in time, he just had to hope she would.

Tormund noticed how red Lily's face went ehrn she heard her brother's voice. "Well, that was a heck of a way to say hello." He chuckled. Sure it hadn't been the most romantic way of saying hello to his girlfriend but it cheered her up a bit which was one of the things he had been going for. "Butter beer please. I'll be over there. I want to say hi to Daddy and James." He then felt her lips on his cheek. "Alright, I'll meet you over there with the drinks." He knew that if it had been his father he would have wanted to talk with him for a little bit as well.
He then notticed Harry order a bottle of Firewhiskey, things weren't looking good for him now. Once Harry's drink had been delievered he walked up to the bar. "One butterbeer and a firewhisky... Actuallly on second thought make that two butterbeers, please." His hand dug into the pouch at the back of his belt for the correct change. The two of them exchanged goods before he headed back to the large group of people Lily was with.
"Here you go Lily." He handed Lily one of the two butterbeers. Then he thought he might aswell adress Harry before he got slammed into a wall or something like that. "Hi everyone." He then took a sip of butterbeer.
((Sorry for the wait guys been really busy...)

fashionably latein an unfashionable world
Where in the world was Alice Longbottom? The festivities in Hogsmeade Village were bustling away for what had to be hours before she'd even processed her own absence from the numbers of students attending. She'd been in her room at first. The other girls had already dressed and gone to the feast. Ace, on yet another of her mildly self-destructive sprees, had given up eating earlier that week. She didn't have time for petty things like that. She'd gotten dressed in her drop dead costume. She hadn't even bothered giving herself a label, she'd just claimed it was a leftover outfit from a masquerade ball. Ace was uninspired in the art of formal dressing for this particular event. She had other things on her mind and knew the evening wouldn't be made for beauty. This was a night made for chaos and whether that chaos was beautiful or not had yet to be determined.
After dressing herself, she'd dug around in her trunk until she'd found her re-filling flask of firewhiskey. Now, the night was hers for the taking. She'd down the content at least three times in solitude before making the decision to wander the castle drunk on an empty stomach. She found herself in the Astronomy Tower at first, laying on her back in a beautiful red gown with a delicate mask over her eyes, mumbling at the stars. "Ode to holidays. Oh how I love thy life, in this sweet disguise, of beautiful addiction, stowed in my own eyes. Masked by this fair costume, on Halloween's dark rise, I sit in this silent tower, muttering my own surprise." Ace sang to no one for an hour straight. She down more whiskey between each verse.
Finally, her own little antics became boring and she was drunk enough to stagger her way out of grace and charm. There was something almost and cruel and edgy once that layer of charm had rubbed off. Ace wasn't a particularly horrible person, but her love of games dictated her actions. People assumed her to be the epitome of all that which was bad because of this. She wandered the halls until she met the grounds where she stumbled her way towards Hogsmeade. Once she'd arrived, trapped in a throng of bustling students, she looked around feeling mildly oblivious to the things occurring here.
Ace staggered on until she started to spot familiar faces. "Luc and Penny and James." She mumbled to herself in an almost whisper. Things were becoming blurry. She hadn't been this drunk in ages. It felt good to not think. Then again, she wondered if she'd find her way back the common room that night. If all else failed, she'd do what she'd done at least ten times before, wander down toward the Shrieking Shack and crash there til she sobered up. She wondered if a friends would join her. She shook her head. Ace was dizzy. There was some type of drama occurring that she was only just tuning into. "Did I miss a fight?" Ace asked and looked at the man standing beside her. It looked an awful lot like Harry Potter. She grinned. "Long time no see." She murmured as if speaking to a class mate.
Notes: Sorry it's short. I've been hecka busy lately and really needed to post here. <3

Chasity raised her bottle of firewhiskey in a salute. To... good times and new friends. Happy Halloween. She then took a deep drink. The strong alcohol burned down her throat, followed by the numbing she remembered. She finished off half the bottle then set it down for a moment. She kept noticing James out of the corner of her eye. She noticed when he moved, or when he smiled. She noticed when he looked in her direction and scowled. She was sure he hadn't seen her looking, but she still looked fully at Luc and smiled flirtatiously. Let him be angry, she thought. She wasn't doing anything wrong, and if he was mad at her, it wasn't her fault. She felt a strange twisting in her stomach as she glanced back at James. The solution to that was to pick her drink back up and finish it off. Thank you, Luc. Next round is on me. She made her way gracefully to the bar and returned with two new bottles.
A few moments later, she saw James put down his butterbeer and pick up a firewhiskey. She smiled a little in surprise. He didn't really seem the type to drink something that strong. This should be amusing, She wondered briefly if he'd ever been drunk, then nearly laughed at the face he made, guessing that he hadn't. Chasity then waited until he seemed less distracted, then moved slightly so that she was easily in his line of sight. The firewhiskey burning through her, she moved closer to Luc then leaned into him, laying her hand lightly on the side of his neck. She only lightly brushed her lips against his but it felt nice. She hoped James had seen that, hoped that he was glowing with jealousy. But she also hoped that Luc would return the kiss, and that was a little surprising. It was too easy to enjoy herself with Luc.
Comments: I'm going to post as long as I can, but I'll be disappearing Wednesday. Luc & James, feel free to godmod Chasity's actions the rest of the night. I trust you two not to get her into too much trouble.
