--- Chasity finished her bottle expertly and went off to get the next round before Luc even had a chance to object much less down half of his own. It was not his first time drinking the strong alcoholic beverage, but it had been some time since he and a few of his Quidditch mates passed around a few bottles. The familiar buzz was beginning to spread as he swigged the rest of his drink when a familiar figure stumbled into the crowd in the form a most familiar blonde Slytherin girl. This particular blonde was not in fact the one he’d kept his eyes open for in the past few weeks, but one he knew none the less. Ace Longbottom appeared as if she had been working on her drunken state for a couple of hours, if not a couple of days. His eyes followed as she made her way to where a large group had gathered around Penny and James. He was surprised to see yet another familiar figure lingering around Penny. Tristan Hunter had been a seventh year when Luc and Penny had started Hogwarts, and as Luc remembered, was now a firm Matthews’s family friend. At one point, they had spoken from time to time, but they were nothing more than vague acquaintances, sharing only Penny’s friendship. Luc groaned as he caught Ace speaking to Harry Potter, and from the looks of things, thought him to be a fellow student. “Ace, what is the matter with you?” Just as Luc considered going over to drag his friend back to the castle before she got herself into too much trouble, Chasity appeared again with two more bottles of firewhiskey. “Welcome back,” Luc gave her a smile and forced Ace from his mind. The older girl was capable of making her own decisions, and it wasn’t as if she were going to listen to him any time soon. Not until she sobered up a bit, anyway. Who knew when that was going to be? Without warning or ceremony, Chasity leaned into him putting a hand on his neck and just barely brushed her lips against his. His lips tingled, but he couldn’t tell if it was from the firewhiskey or the unexpected kiss, or some combination of both. Reflexively, Luc’s free hand touched her face and met his mouth with her again, returning the chaste kiss. Just as quickly, thought process kicked on again and he dropped his hand and pulled away. A very pretty girl he might or might not like to pursue some sort of relationship with had just kissed him in a crowded pub for all to see. For whatever reason his eyes started to trail to Penny, but he shook his head and returned his attention to the task at hand. “What was that for,” he asked looking at Chasity fully. “I mean, not that I mind, just a bit caught off guard.” Luc smiled again, trying to be reassuring, he didn’t want her to think he was rejecting her first move. “We could try again if you like,” he offered before taking a sip of his new bottle. --- Words: 546 Costume: Here Tag:Chasity/Anyone Comments: now it's a party, right?

Tormund noticed how red Lily's face went ehrn she heard her brother's voice. "Well, that was a heck of a way to say hello." He chuckled. Sure it hadn't been the most romantic way of saying hello to his girlfriend but it cheered her up a bit which was one of the things he had been going for. "Butter beer please. I'll be over there. I want to say hi to Daddy and James." He then felt her lips on his cheek. "Alright, I'll meet you over there with the drinks." He knew that if it had been his father he would have wanted to talk with him for a little bit as well. He then notticed Harry order a bottle of Firewhiskey, things weren't looking good for him now. Once Harry's drink had been delievered he walked up to the bar. "One butterbeer and a firewhisky... Actuallly on second thought make that two butterbeers, please." His hand dug into the pouch at the back of his belt for the correct change. The two of them exchanged goods before he headed back to the large group of people Lily was with. "Here you go Lily." He handed Lily one of the two butterbeers. Then he thought he might aswell adress Harry before he got slammed into a wall or something like that. "Hi everyone." He then took a sip of butterbeer. Lily danced around, giving everyone a second hug. Her eyes bugged out at Chase's outfit. Lils thought her cousin was nuts for wearing such a thing. She'd make sure to say something to her later. Once Tormund had returned, he once again, absorbed all of Lily's attention. "Thanks, Tor, she said, taking a butterbeer from him. She casted a nervous glance at Harry. She debated if it was safer to pull Tor away from her father, brother, and basically, another older brother. It probably would be safer, and less confusing. It was hard to keep track of the conversations and, they seemed to be splitting off from each other. Without noticing, Lily's eyes swept through the crowd. She searched for the familiar head of blond hair but, it couldn't be found. She sighed, and took a deep sip of her butterbeer. It was for the best that she didn't see him...here. "Wanna go over there?" she asked, pointing to a less crowded spot, away from her family. "Less of a chance of getting killed," she added with a giggle. Lily took another weary glance at Harry. She was worried about him. He looked...depressed. Plus, she was pretty sure that was firewhiskey he was drinking. Lils knew he hated that stuff.

Penny laughed a little at Tristans comment, "Oh I know I'm safe, I have two strapping young men to keep me safe right?" She smiled, feeling slightly more relaxed, though she could still feel her heart beating unnaturally fast. She took another sip of her drink as She glanced behind her, just to check that James was still there and hadn't been snatched by another random family member or wondered off of his own accord. She raised her eyebrows at the mention of muggle eating toasters, "Actually that sounds pretty interesting!" Tristan was a Curse Breaker at the Ministry, which was a career choice that Penny had thought about going into, if she got the grades of course. Which she would. As Tristan continued to talk about her father, she made a mental note to return to the topic of muggle eating toasters abit later on. She nodded as Tristan said her father was well, she assumed as much, her parents might not write her often, but that was only for the fact that they didn't really have much to say that would interest her, not because they didn't care. If her father or mother had fallen ill or something, she was sure that she would be notified. Surely?“How have you been? He treating you right?” Penny grinned some and raised her eyebrows at the young mans second question. Taking a breath and glancing behind her again as James was just getting his firewhiskey. "I'm fine! you know, just getting through school really, much less interesting than muggle eating toasters thats for sure!" She giggled, "And yeah, he is" She added coupled with another small giggle as James rejoined them and a farmiliar blonde was seen stumbling her way through the crowded pub. "Oh Alice..." She said more to herself, in an exasperated, motherly tone. Penny really couldn't count how many times she had tried to drag her friend back from hogsmead in a heavily intoxicated state, only for her to dramatically abscond to the shack or some other place that she enevitably ended up sleeping in... Penny inwardly cringed at the thought of spending a night in the shack, drunk sensless or not... She saw Luc try, but then fail to talk to her, taken care of She thought, happily distancing herself emotionally from her smashed friend. Though her eyes lingered on Luc for just that split second longer, only to see him, Kissing!? that girl?? Chav...Chas.. whatever it was? Penny raised her eyebrows in reaction, well he's not wasting any time then. She thought to herself, turning back to Tristan and- "James?" But he didn't seem to be listening. He was just down right staring at Luc and the Slytherin kissing. Frowning some, Penny said a little louder, "James!" before raising her hand a clicking in his face a few times and waving, "Hello? Girlfriend, here?"... Tag: Anyone! Words: 563 Comments: dududooo

James was lucky that he had disappeared to get his firewhisky for that moment. The fact that Tristan and Penny so easily started up a conversation would irk him. But then he ended up being aggravated anyway. As he made his was back over to the two after his nasty first tastes of the alcohol, he overheard Tristan asking Penny if James treated her alright. His brow furrowed with disgust. What was with everyone thinking he was an incompetent suitor for Penny? He chugged another few gulps of the firewhiskey. Oh hell how it burned, burned with a satisfaction of drowning out his thoughts. He glanced quickly over to his dad, who was also enjoying a firewhiskey. It made James feel a little less guilty for indulging.
His thoughts, slowly filling with the blur of booze, were jolted as a blond girl clambered her way into the pub. James didn't recognize her at first until she bee-lined her way over to their group and made herself comfortable right next to his dad. It was Ace Longbottom, the boisterous and rule-breaking Slytherin. Their parents were friends, so they had talked here and there. James was convinced she didn't like him though. Then she asked Harry about a fight. Oh shit. Holy effing hell... Dad does NOT need to know about this... ever, he thought frantically. Now James wasn't very close with Ace, but he was right about to head over and drag her bumbling, drunk self away before his night was ruined again by something else.
Before he could make his move though, it just so happened he took another glance around the room. His eyes landed on Chasity right as she laid one right on Luc. A normal reaction from James would have been and grumble as he would turn away. Instead he stared on, mouth open slightly and eyes transfixed as Luc freaking kissed her back. James would have rather had admitting to his dad about the fight ruin his night. Anything else but seeing his rival kissing the girl that James... was... friends with... that so happened to kiss him on a random occasion...
What a ridiculous idea it was that James Potter was jealous of the two. Its not like him and Chasity ever dated or anything. And James had a girlfriend. It was preposterous really. He needed to get over it. And how was he going to get over it? He chugged the rest of his firewhiskey and put the empty bottle onto the counter a little bit too forcefully, which shocked a few people around him.
"I'll have another," he nearly shouted surprising the bartender. The man, once finished with his last customer, hurried over to James with another bottle. "Yeah, thanks, here." he bumbled as he paid. Immediately he cracked open the drink and took a gulp. That was when he noticed Penny had been trying to get his attention.
James stared at Penny, shocked that she noticed his reaction. His eyes went wide for a moment, as if he were a child getting caught doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing. "Yeah. Hey. What's up?" he finally answered shortly, while grabbing onto one of her hands. He purposely kept his eyes focused on Penny now. He couldn't look back over at that scene with Luc and Chasity. There was no reason to feel the way he did.
After he took another drink of his booze, he smiled at Penny. "So," James said trying to think how to continue and change the subject off of him. He gave another nervous glance at his dad and Ace, hoping they weren't talking about James' fight. "Do you want to... go over there?" James asked as he pointed to a more clear area near one of the corners. He needed to get away from not only his ridiculously crazy family but also the two people he did not want to think of for the rest of the evening.

Post by Albus Potter on Nov 23, 2009 15:25:55 GMT -5
Albus Severus Potter was beginning to seriously regret his choice of not spending the night up in the castle. For once he would have been guaranteed a completely vacant Common Room, free of the usual bustle of his classmates, but he had forsaken this blessing to come down and participate in the Halloween Festival. There was no denying the fact that Hogsmeade looked exceptionally beautiful on the star lit night, and he paused for a second to take in the sight. Bonfires lined the main street casting a warm golden glow over the nearby market stalls that were filled with exotic merchandize even by Hogsmeade's usual high standards. A soft music came from somewhere up the road and Albus found himself humming along to the melody. Having hesitated about actually coming for quite some time, the streets around him were already packed with people, and it was mostly for this reason he was feeling uncomfortable. Albus knew his social skills were somewhat lacking, having had that very fact pointed out on several occasions, and though he was not exactly shy, he still seemed to have an almost magic ability to always say the wrong things.
Sighing he scanned the crowded streets for familiar faces. Most people passed him by without a second glance, and he smiled wryly as he wondered whether he had overdone his costume. At first he hadn't planned on dressing up as anything at all. He had tired of the countless suggestions to go as his father over a month ago, and had defiantly decided that if he was going as anything at all it would be as himself. In the end, however, he had settled on a spell he had found in his fifth year in a forgotten aile of the library. It had for the most part contained spells you could use in practical pranks, and would perhaps have suited his brother better than Albus, but he had brought it with him none the less and for the last two years it had been lying under his bed collecting dust. There was really only one charm in the old volume that had caught Albus' eye, and he had spent some time before he could actually make it work.
It had in the end though, and Albus watched his translucent reflection in a nearby window with a fascinated expression. It was still him. The contours of his face had not changed, and wild tossed strands of hair stood out around him like a dark halo as always. At the same time the street behind him was just visible through his back, and it was a strange feeling to have suddenly become transparent. Maybe that was why people didn't notice him now. Because in their eyes he was a ghost, and ghosts were noticed for what they were, not who they had been. Maybe he ought to do this more often.
Tearing himself away from the slightly unnerving image Albus weaved his way through the crowd. Waves of sounds were hitting him at infrequent intervals as he passed by the open doors of bars and shops catching little bits and pieces of conversations. Though he did not like the general swarm of the crowd Albus found himself enjoying the sense of being unseen. It was the eve of Halloween, and no one seemed interested in counting up how many ghosts that were out and about.
At some point he noticed Headmaster Meyrick moving through the sea of people in the opposite direction. The wizard appeared to be admiring the Halloween decorations but Albus could see the attentive glitter in his eyes. Probably keeping watch for trouble, he reflected thoughtfully, and ducked behind a huge pumpkin hoping to have gone unnoticed. He didn't quite know what to make of the wizard. Deep down Albus was fully aware that his tendency to rub people the wrong way was mostly due to his own lack of interest to actually connect with them. He had never had any problem with ending up on the good side of his professors. Headmaster Meyrick was a special case, however. Albus could never quite figure out whether the man liked him or not, and it bothered him to bits. Having grown up as a quiet child he had early on gotten into the habit of watching the body language of other people, and was quite good at picking up on the small signals they were not aware of sending out. Which was why he became frustrated when he could not pick up anything at all.
Continuing on Albus suddenly spotted Luc Norwood, a sixth year Ravenclaw and something of a friend, walking hand in hand with his Prefect Partner Chasity Atherton. Narrowing his eyes slightly he made his way a little closer, making sure to keep out of sight. He hadn't known the two of them were going out, but then again he was really horrible when it came to keeping track of the school gossip. Somehow it would all pass him by, and he considered that to be something of a small mercy. Now he felt a little intrigued though, and he began to follow the pair up the street silently, wondering how long it would take for them to notice him.
